This might be useful for some. It has just been posted in another group the requirements for a Residence Certificate in Chiang Mai. Note - different Immigration Offices have different requirements so check what is required where you apply.

I have to deal with the Jomtien office. I just got my first one-year extension on my Non-O retirement visa.

My issue now is I want to buy a vehicle in Thailand.

I understand I need a 'Residence Certificate' to make such a purchase. I read on the net that the forms have to be submitted and then they send the certificate out like 2 or 3 weeks later! I cannot expect a seller to hold a vehicle for 2 or 3 weeks.

I need a certificate ASAP if possible. I read there are an agents service I can buy and get the certificate in one day for like 500 baht. Can you tell me if that is possible in Jomtien please?

I also read somewhere that I cannot even get a Residency Certificate until I make my first 90 reporting. That seems very much not right, but I realize this is Thailand. So if that is true, I have no hopes of getting a Residency Certificate until that 90 days rolls around anyway, right?

Applied for workcation as an IT freelancer.

Submitted documents:

- Passport

- Bank statement (1 month) showing required balance

- Picture

- Residence certificate since my national id card is expired

- Tax registration as freelancer

Before submitting i properly cancelled my ED visa and flew back to Germany and applied immediately after my return. 4 days later, consulate requested an employment contract or certificate as additional documents. However, I replied i‘m a freelancer, resubmitted tax registration and 2 purchase orders from my customers (3 month contracts). Another 4 days later i got approved without any further questions.

Hi All. Great group with useful info. I'd appreciate your advice. I am a DTV holder looking to get a driving license. Part of the doc requirements include Residence Certificate. Looking for the easiest and fastest way to get this done for a DTV holder. Please note I have not completed 90 day reporting. Open to paying for a fast-track service. Any thoughts/experiences?
