Need help on one. Got my passport back from the agent yesterday. I need to leave next week to the United States for two weeks. Do I need to get a re entry visa or do I have one already. I have no problem paying for one. But if I already have it that would be great. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the need for a re-entry visa before traveling to the U.S. They currently hold a SINGLE re-entry permit valid until August 11, 2025, allowing them to return to Thailand once. If they leave using this permit, they would need to obtain a new one for any further trips. Comments indicate that one can acquire a re-entry permit at the airport or book an appointment at immigration. Additionally, multi-entry permits are available for those who travel frequently.

You have a single re-entry permit—it will be cancelled when you arrive back—you can get a multi permit if you need more travels in the one year.

How long the process to apply multiple-entry will get done? It is can get directly on the same day? Tia

@Migg ******

The best talk to your agent or visit immigration

You can get a re-entry permit at the airport on your way out. In my experience it takes 10-15 minutes but I try to fly off-peak times so you may want to allow a little more time.

Don’t need an agent… if you need the re-entry permit, book an appointment online for free, prepare the few documents and you’ll be in and out of the immigration within 30 min. Single entry 1000, multiple 3900 I think.

is this for Bangkok? I don't see any way to choose a different immigration location such as Chiang Mai.

@Russell *******
yes, it’s for Bangkok. Top one is Bangkok immigration.

@Naj ************
thank you for your reply. Do you happen to know how to find the one for Chiang Mai?
Naj *************
@Russell *******
not sure if Chiangmai offers that service. You’ll need to find it out yourself:-) co-Pilot or any other ai is usually a good help

The bottom half of the page is the re-entry permit.

It's not a re-entry visa, it's a re-entry permit.

You have a SINGLE re-entry permit, valid until the end of your extension (11 August 2025).

This means you can leave and return one time and keep your extension. You'll need to be back before 11 August.

If you want to leave again after using this re-entry permit, you will need to purchase a new one since this one is only for a single use.

You can get a multiple entry retirement visa up front and avoid the need to get re-entry stamps...correct? If yes do you know what the price is? Tnx

@Robert **********
A single re-entry permit is 1000 baht, and multiple re-entry permit is 3800 baht. So you would need to be planning on leaving at least 4 times to make it worthwhile for the multiple. The other consideration is if you are running low on pages, 1 half-page stamp vs however many times you will purchase a single re-entry permit.

We've received one report this month that someone was not given the option to purchase a multiple re-entry permit at the airport and was only allowed to purchase a single re-entry permit, but normally it is possible at the airport. The price at the airport is 200 baht more since they fill out the form and take your photo for you, so 1200 baht and 4000 baht.

Great. THANKS!

3800, so if you're going to or it is likely you're going to leave the country more than 3 times it better to get a multi-reentry permit
