My first license was a couple of years ago. I don't exactly recall everything I needed but I do remember it's a pain in the neck.. Doctor's letter, class/instructor letter, immigration letter.
I found someone who helped me get my second license... It cost me 3000, took me 30 minutes.
My girlfriend and I have no issues going up steep hills. Together we're 120kg.
Top speed without the girl is about 100-120km/h. That's fast enough to hurt yourself pretty good.
Scooters are good enough to get through the city without issue. They're not so great for long trips, off-road riding, or similar real motorcycle activity.
I have rented motorcycles in several SE countries. There almost always have a Click style motorcycle, named something different. Given the popularity of the bike I doubt they'll discontinue it anytime soon. They may rebrand it but I am skeptical of that.
I stay in a condo and they do it for me for 100 baht or something.. You can do it yourself if you want. I choose to do it regardless if it's necessary or not. It doesn't hurt anything and costs next to nothing.
AirBnB often have some sort of "cooking area" with limited cooking supplies.
An induction cooker (Hot plate) is pretty cheap. I have dietary restrictions also and when I travel to exotic places I tend to stick with fruits and vegetables.
