Hi guys, I currently live In Thailand on DTV but my partner is on metv until he saves up enough money for the dtv. Has anyone had any successful experience renewing your METV after it expires or will the embassy see it as a no-go? Will immigration cause issues for such case?
Hey guys, so I have been in Thailand for about 7-8 months doing 2 x border runs and 2 extensions.
I went overseas for 2 weeks and arrived back at the weekend. Customs pulled me aside and wanted to see my next flight, which I have in 2 weeks time, this time overseas for 3 weeks, then returning back to Thailand after that.
Was I unlucky or is this normal now?
Should I expect the same next time?
Also, I have dual passport, I could fly back on the other one? Thanks......
I want to briefly share my situation and ask for genuine feedback from people who have been in a similar case (please, no life advice or lectures 🙏).
Recently, I was denied entry to Thailand at the airport because I had done 3 border runs. One month later, my DTV application was rejected without explanation, even though I met the official criteria.
I still have important matters and all my belongings in Thailand, so I’m considering the following:
* Using a VIP service to re-enter on visa exemption (I hold a Spanish passport).
* Once inside, applying for an ED visa to gain more stability, attending classes every week.
How viable is this path in practice (VIP → ED)?
Do you recommend going straight for ED once inside, or any other legal option to stabilize my situation?
Thanks in advance for any genuine feedback based on real experiences.
I Went to Thailand under visa exemption from uk, last year Sep - Dec , then again Jan - April (adding the extra 30 days both times). Had to leave as "visa" was expiring and went to Vietnam/Malaysia for a week. Came back to Thailand hoping to get a flight I had booked for 2 weeks times.
Wasn't allowed entry, which now I understand why, was sent back to Vietnam then I went onwards to UK. Though I'm looking to go back with a tourist visa soon as I've just had one approved.
Anyone forsee any immigration issues from your experience?
Has anyone ever been denied entry into Thailand on a DTV, e.g. because of not taking part in the soft power activity anymore or not meeting the 500k requirement anymore?
Hello everyone, I know immigration is become very strict this year and there are people who got denied with a SETV (single entry tourist visa). Is a METV “stronger” in front of an immigration officer? Can it get denied? For context, I am 19 and can’t apply to DTV because the requirement is 20 yo. Thanks 🙏
I have 2 entries on visa exemption this calendar year with a total of 68 days, but in case they check the “last 12 months” it would be 3 entries with 86 days total in Thailand (all well spaced out). Of course I have never overstayed, maxed my exemption, or abused the system, I just have some free time this year thanks to my university schedule.
Hello everyone. I was denied entry into Thailand based on a 60-day exemption. Will I have a problem entering with a DTV visa? Has anyone had a similar problem? How can I re-enter Thailand? I don't have an entry ban.
