Just flew in to BKK. My Non -O had not been processed in time. All the IO did was check that I flew in from my home country. Gave me the 60 days and told me to apply earlier. I have had multiple entries this year including a border bounce. Her supervisor saw the Thai children birth certificates in my hand and told her to let me in. Legitimate reason doesn't seem to cause a problem.
Required proof of residency by utility bill or rental agreement. Will a bank statement do as I have none of these. HMRC tax residency letter maybe.
You get a 60 day stay and 30 day extention then have to leave. Can I then return maybe within one day with no issuses. Sounds to me like a border bounce but "legal"
Has anyone on a DTV Visa done a border bounce through Chiang Khong recently? Is it possible to come back same day? I would prefer to go solo rather than by bus with a visa company. Thanks all!
Did a border bounce today! Crossed the bridge from Nong Khai, went through Lao immigration, waited on the other side for about an hour and a half, then came back into Thailand. Got stamped back in without a single question from immigration. Super smooth process!
For existing DTV holders. Question Re Driver’s licenses and DTV 180-day border bounces.
Sure many of you have already seen this onerous form for DTV extensions. Received this one today in Phuket Town but must be started at least two weeks in advance, and so I must exit and re-enter the kingdom due to insufficient time to extend. This isn’t a surprise to me, but it is a great letdown. When I asked immigration staff if the driver’s license could be applied for immediately upon return from the border bounce, the English-speaking volunteer at building 101 in Phuket Town said this shouldn’t cause a delay in applying for a driver’s license.
But I’d rather be sure. Those who bounced already on a DTV after your first 180 days, were you able to receive a drivers license without waiting another 90 days following your exit/re-entry?
I’m coming to Thailand at the end of December & would like to stay for around 4 months . I’m 66 should I apply for a non o retirement visa and then extend for a month or take a flight for a week or two and return. I’m from England.
Question 1: Once I enter initially on a workation DTV, do I need to submit a TM-30 within a day or two? Question 2: Do I need to border bounce on day 180, or do I need to border bounce on day 179? When I re-enter the 180 day clock starts over, right? Or do I need to check in with immigration every 30 days?
