Lol the paranoia is warranted though. People are having lots of issues with it. From what I've seen, if you apply correctly with the SHA QR code cropped a certain way, it will automatically approve you.

Well I can tell you 100% that they are incorrect. HOWEVER, Steve may be correct in staying THAT particular immigration office might not be able to do them. Similar to police stations, each province has a headquarters (main office) and then smaller substations. Honestly I've never heard of Songkhla before, had to google to see where it was. This is something those on Koh Chang have to deal with, for anything substantial they have to take a ferry to Trat.

You may have to go to the provinces main immigration office if that isn't it, or another immigration office (Bangkok, Phuket, surat thani) to get the Non-O.

Who told you that at the immigration office? An Immigration officer, some guy at the front desk, a trainee in a white shirt?

That's a problem. You cannot transition to another visa or extension off of an STV. I've seen some people be able to get the covid extension from the STV, but you need to legitimately demonstrate your inability to travel.
