Hey everyone, I’m looking into getting an ED visa to study Thai and trying to understand how flexible it can be.

Specifically: Is it possible to do only 2 days per week (instead of 3+)?

Are there evening classes, or is it mostly mornings?

Do any schools allow some online / hybrid attendance?

If you’ve done this yourself or know good schools in Bangkok, I’d really appreciate recommendations or contacts. Thanks!

EDIT: I only prefer 2 days over 3 days because it fits my schedule better, I'm fine with many hours a day

Hi everyone I am just looking for advice and doing some research on moving to thailand. As a 29 year old, how could i move to thailand? I understand i would maybe have to arrive on a tourist visa and then extend after establishing a bank account and having proof of income, but i would like to hear more opinions from others. I also was looking to apply for a 90 day visa and attend a language school but i dont know much about thai language schools. Any advice for a permanently disabled veteran? I WILL be reading every comment and might not reply to most but i appreciate any opinion or wisdom. Should i rent a place in thailand to move to on my 60-90 day visit before arriving and extend by using that rental agreement or is it more complicated than that? In reality I would like to become a permanent resident and spent the rest of my days there.

Just curious,(and curiosity is usually only fatal to cats ;) )

Has anyone gotten a DTV by enrolling in a Thai language school?

If so could you mention the school, say how long of course you enrolled in and what consulate you applied thru?

ED/ DTV visa advice

สวัสดีค่ะทุกคน,

Recently I have been looking more into a fitting Visa to stay longterm in Thailand. DTV sounds tempting, but I don't quite understand the softpowerskill requirement. If booking a cooking class... do 10 days of class make me eligible for the 5 year visa or do I have to pay the course fee of around 40,000 บาท every 6 months?

Right now I think ED visa might be the best choice for me through attending a thai language course. Does anyone have recommendations for cheap language schools in bkk? Also is there an requirement for a minimum amount of hours per week? And is it possible to apply for an ED visa two years in a row? As I'm doing my bachelor's online rn, I can't study thai full-time.

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m currently on DTV in Bangkok and looking for the best Thai language school to start studying. I’ve narrowed my search down to two options:

📌 The Knowledge BKK

📌 ALA Language School

If anyone has personal feedback, experiences, or is currently attending classes at either of these schools, I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts!

Also, if you have other Thai school recommendations that you’ve had a good experience with, please feel free to share those as well.

Thanks so much in advance! 🙏🇹🇭

I want to apply for the DTV visa but under soft core heading how would one sign up for activities when you are not currently in Thailand. Would Immigration issue the visa on the basis that you will sign up for a course when you arrive in Thailand.

Everyone, I would like to use the Soft Power option to apply for a DTV.

For the Soft Power part, I’m considering enrolling in a language school and using it for the DTV application.

A student visa only allows a 90-day stay, and the schools usually require a certain number of class hours, which seems a bit troublesome, right?

If I want to find a Thai language school in Pattaya, is that possible?

Does anyone have any recommendations for schools with good reviews and a nice environment?

Thank you all very much for your help and suggestions.

Hi everyone 👋

I’m looking into getting an ED visa to study Thai in Bangkok, and I’d really appreciate some advice.

* What are the most reputable Thai language schools in the city that people recommend for the ED visa?

* Any tips or experiences (good or bad) you’ve had with schools, the visa process, or things to look out for?

Thanks a lot for any insights 🙏
