I need some clarification. Is it true that travelers entering Thailand under the visa-exemption scheme must show 20,000 THB per person and 40,000 THB per family and that this amount must be in cash (Thai Baht)? Is there any official confirmation on the Royal Gazette website that this rule is now required?
As far as I know, the requirement has always been 10,000 THB per person and 20,000 THB per family. There is a lot of confusion about this topic, especially now that visa runs are under strict scrutiny. But is this higher amount mandatory even for regular travelers who are not doing visa runs? Please help me understand.
its my first time entering Thailand, my dtv has been approved and I have printed it and have it with my passport. what other documents do I need to have ready to show immigration upon arrival?
I travel to Thailand 3 times a year for 45 days each time (max days for travel insurance). Each time fly London to BKK and back to London. Do you think I will have any issues getting my usual visa exemption with the new rules?
What should one do if they receive an email from the Thai Consulate asking again for “need accommodation proof in thailand” even though these were already included in the application?
In my case, the original submission already had:
– a confirmed one-way flight ticket to Bangkok
– hotel booking confirmation from booking.com (completely refundable) for the first two weeks in Bangkok
Just want to know if this is a standard follow-up, then what to share with them, or if I should resend the same documents separately.
