The Shengen visa comprises 29 countries including 25 EU member states and 4 non EU countries. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemborg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania,Slovakia, Spain, Sweden. Non EU countries Iceland, Liechenstien, Norway and Sweden. Also by extension of fact Vatican City, Monaco & San Marino. Thais get visa free entry to Turkey only one i can see being a problem is Andorra but thats not EU. Think that will cover the writer for a Euro trip

By all accounts the immigration officers are also confused and have no clear guidelines.

General consensous is its easier to fly out and in.

Just go to the office and ask what they require.

No3 never after it expires that means you are not legally in the country

Be honest with you unless your going to extend the 180 days at immigration office i wouldnt bother
