Ok proof they are still doing multiple entry 1 year non O at Savanakhet

Couple of queries i asked today from questions yesterday.

Overseas bank accounts ok at moment. (He did say that may change)

Needs to be 3 months worth of accounts and has to be no older than 1 week.

Someone else asked about Wifes ID and passport. They said no problem just ID if never been issued passport.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Savannakhet Consulate is still issuing the Multiple Entry Non-O visa valid for one year, primarily for foreigners married to Thai nationals. Current requirements include having a minimum of 3 months' worth of bank statements, which must be no older than a week. If the spouse has never had a passport, only the wife's ID is sufficient. Applicants generally need to provide a passport copy, a visa and entry stamp into Laos, two photographs, the wife's ID and passport, the wife's House Registration Book, a copy of the marriage certificate, and recent bank statements. It is important to note that the Savannakhet website may not reflect all current processing requirements or fees as they could change periodically.

OR EASIER get a single entry tourist visa good for 3 months with an extension. or a METV for up to almost 9 months. or get a single entry visa for three months then border bounce for two more months with visa exemption with extension, or get another single entry at a thai embassy in lao/cambodia/malaysia

Get a Multiple Entry Non-O visa based on marriage from the Royal Thai Embassy in London

@Michael *******
I have got my last 2 multi entry Non-O visas based on marriage at the Savannakhet Consulate (last one was early August this year). B5,000 each time. You can only stay in thailand for 90 days each time though. Not a problem for me as i travel outside for work. As the the visa is multi entry, you do not need to get Re-Entry Permits... Minimal documentation is required, no bank statements (check their website for the latest documents though, seeing other posters have said things have changed.) Don't go on a Monday or straight after a public holiday, as many people. Other days you'll be in & out within 15 - 30 minutes max.

@Gary **********
They don't list the 12 month mult-entry Non-O marriage on their website so the requirements or any changes will not be found there
Gary ***********
Graham Seal Correct. They don't list the 12 month visa on the Savannakhet consulate website, but it is on the visa fees list though..

The 8 required document's for the 12 month multi entry were still the same as the single entry back at the beginning of August...

Maybe things have changed since then... Will find out next year when I need to renew..!!! lol 😆 🤣 😂

Well what i required this week was

Copy passport

Copy Loas entry stamp & visa

2 photographs

Wifes ID & Passport

Wifes Blue book

Copy wedding certificate (i did bring original but they didnt want to see)

3 months worth of bank statements (cannot be older than a week)

But as you know next year may all change
Gary ***********
@Michael *******
The only thing different is the Bank Statements... Will see what the HCMC Consulate is doing about the bank statements too... Had previously done the visa before covid there, as quick and easy like Savannakhet is / was...

A friend from Chiangmai was only given a 3 month single entry yesterday at Savannakhet as he didn't have the bank statements with him...

Might try HCMC next time for change of scene bank statements not issue with me but multi entry suits my work and waiting 4 to 5 weeks extension in country does not. Singapore stopped doing it during covid and never brought back.

yes i just got it today. That is why i posted as there was confusion about whether still available

Thanks for sharing! Is there any reason to have to go to Laos for this visa rather than an immigration office in Thailand? I thought it’s a simple process if you’re married to Thai to apply for this Non Immigrant O 1 year extension from any immigration office in thailand. Thanks in advance for your explanation. 🙏

@Jerrod **********
Yes it takes too long to do the extension in country and with nature of my work its more practical to get the multi entry in two days rather than 4 to 6 weeks for an extension.
Daniele ***********
@Jerrod **********
with extension you need to go office and get re entry permit every time you leave country
Jerrod ***********
@Daniele **********
@Michael *******
thanks for that. I’m still learning the process since I’ve recently moved to Thailand under marriage O visa and haven’t been here 90 days yet. Anyhow, are you saying that the visa you just posted does not require a re entry permit every time you leave the country which could be a big cost savings if you travel a lot compared to getting the 1 year extension from within Thailand and having to pay either b1000 for single entry or b3,800 for multi entry permit? Are there any other reasons one might prefer to get the visa you posted please? Also, if on marriage O visa extension and pay for a multi entry permit…do you still have to get additional re entry permits every time you leave Thailand? I’m very confused about this part. 🙏
Daniele ***********
@Jerrod **********
advantage of multi entry is not having to deal with and wasting days at immigration office, also before this update no requirement to show any bank statement
Johan *******
@Daniele **********
you also need to leave the country every 90 days?
Daniele ***********
@Johan ******
with multi entry visa yes, with 1 year extension no, but 90 day report at immigration
Johan *******
@Daniele **********
if you are not leaving Thailand(re entry permit)

It is worth doing extention of stay and renew every year
Jerrod ***********
@Daniele **********
does a multi re entry permit solve that problem then? Sounds like it would.
Daniele ***********
@Jerrod **********
well yeah, still the procedure is quite a bit more complex and time consuming than just getting the visa, at least for me
Giuseppe **********
You must have money in bank, 3 months least , before visa issue, and 3 months before renuewing it. Money in bank, its must before applying
Giuseppe **********
Guy, thse are delicates issues, better to ask to officers
Daniele ***********
@Giuseppe *********
yeah as if savannakhet consulate has ever responded a mail 😂

I think you talking about extension at immigration office

can you confirm if the balance has to be over 400k for every transaction in the last 3 months or just at the end of the 3 months?

for whole 3 months above 400 k
Giuseppe **********
@Daniele **********
, what i know is 3 months before and 3 months after

@Giuseppe *********
how is it 3 months after not logical its only when doing extension in country
Nongnuch ********
@Michael *******
"three months after" only applies to extensions based on retirement. When you receive an extension based on marriage, you are free to take the whole 400,000.- THB out

What are we looking at here? Pretend I'm dumb. It's easy and everyone likes to do it.
Brandon ************
@Jack ***************
Savannakhet used to not require proof of funds for the 1 year non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai. The only consulate that offered it so many people used it.

A few weeks ago they started requiring proof of funds and some people believed they were no longer offering the visa at all.

This is proof that they're still offering the visa, but you need to show the 400,000 baht.
Jerrod ***********
@Brandon ***********
under types of visas, they do not show the multi entry, but under visa prices, they do show it as pictured here.
Daniele ***********
@Brandon ***********
I remember they used to make that visa in HCMC as well, when has it changed? Any difference in the requirements if the visa is based on a wife or on a child?
Michael ********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Daniele **********
yes most embassies stopped doing them during covid, i got one of first visas and they would only issue the 3 month non O.

I did ask them why and reply is attached
Brandon ************
@Daniele **********
spouse and guardian are completely different visas with completely different requirements. And I don't believe HCMC has done it since covid.
Daniele ***********
@Brandon ***********
so do you know if it also requires

yeah thank you, probably not been updated in the last 10 years 😂 and I don't think they even mention the multi entry visa in savannakhet website

think a year of 90,000k transfers would work?

For now, thankfully, single entry Non-O based on marriage at Savannakhet doesn't require 400k. It give you 5 months (60 days family extension), so not too bad. My friend will be in Savannakhet this Friday or Monday and he will try to pay the 13k baht bribe to get the Multi Non-O. Rumor has it that it's the current price with a "fixer/bribe".
Xamar ********
@Maxim **********
Advice please, my visa will expire this 17 November, should i travel now to Savannakhet and apply for 3 month single entry visa?
Maxim ***********
@Xamar *******
OR... after getting the 90 days, you can extend for 1 year with an agent for around 25k baht (without showing 400k). That's the cost for using an agent. You can by-pass the financial requirement with agent. It's up to you.
Xamar ********
@Maxim **********
not able to find agents who is agree to apply visa without 400k.
Maxim ***********
@Xamar *******
What visa? A tourist visa? You can extend tourist visa and visa exempt by 30 days at nearest immigration office. If you already did it, I suggest you wait closer to November 17 to leave. Are you married? If so, yeah, go to Savannakhet around November 15 and apply for 90 days Non-O (they are not asking for 400k baht). And then you can extend 60 days at immigration office near when the 90 days expire.
Xamar ********
@Maxim **********
Yes i am married, thank you for your advice... if you know little more in detail kindly guide me, is it any special countries list for Savannakhet? Like from Vientiane immigration have mentioned about Pakistan for process take 4 weeks long time to process Non O 3 month visa.
