The discussion primarily revolves around Thailand's quarantine rules and requirements for travelers, particularly concerning vaccinated visitors. There is a debate about the credibility and impact of vaccine rollouts in various countries, including the UK and Brazil. Participants express skepticism towards the quarantine changes (from 14 to 10 days) and speculate about plans for reducing it further for vaccinated travelers, especially in relation to Phuket's reopening for international tourism starting July 1. Concerns about hotel pricing for quarantine stays and the implications of evolving travel protocols are also raised.

Asq hotels will just raise rates to recover losses.
Not trying to be a downer but we all know it's true.
How bout no quarantine if vaccinated, isn't that how vaccines are supposed to work??

Andy Mitchell. That will come eventually, but it's a gradual process, and will be dependant on how quickly the whole country is vaccinated. Much will depend on how the Phuket experiment works out.
<<Quarantine requirements will be waived for vaccinated foreign visitors arriving on the resort island of Phuket from July 1, the first destination to reopen since the Covid-19 pandemic struck last year.
...
This will not apply to visitors from some African countries, due to the South African variant, including South Africa and Kenya, he said.>>
hotels have already been offering reduced price ASQs for April for last few weeks

If I believe the news, 75% of the French are infected with the English variant. That's why France reopened their borders with the UK, because the English variant is not considered a variant anymore but became the "standard" virus.
check out the latest Thaigar article from today. They are making preparations for 7 quarantine between now and July 1.

It's probably just for show. They know these countries are irrelevant in visiting Thailand anyways and they just listed them to show that they are doing something to reduce the risk.

Much better. I did expect to see UK, but thinking about it, they have handled the vaccine roll out admirably. I think they're already in the 40 year olds.
