As Ray Bond pointed out this morning they are now asking for SHA ++ or SHA plus extra bookings for test and go packages.

This means they are already aligned with a hospital to do the testing.

Only guessing that people were just booking SHA plus hotels and no testing (looks cheaper)

Hi Michael, my friend (also Michael) is booked to fly to Phuket from SG on the coming Sunday and his Thai pass got rejected today because of some wrong entry I think. He tried to resubmit but his insurance form doesn’t state the amount covered ( he bought it through the airline). Does it matter? Also is it likely he would get the pass in time? He’s made all these bookings and it’s all a bit of mess at the moment. 😕

I got scammed into booking a sha+ hotel (of course not refundable) because of the confusing denomination. Luckily it's only 700 bath.

Does anybody have a link with sha+ extra hotels for Bangkok that includes the prices of the packages for 2 persons? Booking & co are mostly useless , the filters are inexistant

what ever you do i would book the whole thing in one package, that is hotel transfer and test included. Thats probably the difference of the ++ as opposed to the +. I got completely scammed as I was charged separately for the hotel and transfer and then they refused to refund because the thailand pass rejected the application. Where as doing the whole thing as a package would at least allow the option to refund the whole thing if something goes wrong. The tourist authority of thailand has reported that there is a lot of deceitful activity around this whole thing..

resolution is sure a challenge here. Not sure there's much that can be done about it. Their argument is they issued a receipt and therefore will not refund. Doubt the police would be much help either

that’s why they made the SHA++ there was an article the Bangkok post did about some of these hotels not selling the right package and causing problems, good luck with resolution

you cannot transit BKK to Phuket...must do Test N Go in Bangkok first if you land in Bangkok BKK

Again...NO TRANSIT CAN BE DONE BANGKOK TO PHUKET.

To clarify: under “before arrival“ the first requirement doesn’t apply to OA holders as by definition a retiree is resident…? Also, as per points 1 to 3, only a vax cert and hotel booking are needed for the Thailand Pass and QR code; the airline booking/PCR 72 hr test and insurance are not required at this stage.

I think adopting more normalized Covid precautions is entirely reasonable, and not the mess thailand makes it out to be.

But also I plan to take full advantage of less tourists, many people who have been coming for 15+ years say Covid Thailand is like a time travel for a (hopefully) once in a lifetime opportunity

I can present them with my vaccine passport i can show them covid test

Or why don't they just do fast test at landing

All those extras make it not spontaneous at all

No wonder only 200 k applied

Basically hardly any tourists going to Thailand even though it's opened

a lot more then last year that’s for sure, my plane was empty last year and packed this year.

The test and go is a massive upgrade, but still plenty of extra costs and paperwork

Also getting rid of that “fit to fly” crap

there is no fit to fly. Leaving Thailand is the same process as coming you, you need to see what the entry requirements are for where you’re going as well as the airline.
