What if you wanted to legitimately tour parts of Thailand only for a total of five months a year, split into two stays, july and august and then later in Dec, Jan, Feb. Do you think you need to get a retirement visa, or some other form of visa, or can you just come in on a tourist visa?
Does anyone have experience with obtaining a 1-year Non O-A Visa in their home country and then once in Thailand switching to a Non O after a year and after 12 months of depositing needed pension funds into a Thai Bank?
Seems that would be a "smoother" transition. I meet all the requirements, and I was already planning on getting health insurance.
I use wise. Does anyone know why it takes a day or 2 to send money to my Thai bank account if I say the reason. (Funds for long term stay in Thailand).
Happens for any amount.
But when I send money to the girlfriend or for any other reason it's sent straight away.
Ime off to see the Mrs for two months with another mont visa extension.. being next to the Laos border I was thinking I would hop over for a few days at the end of the three months so I can fill in another entry visa for 8 weeks.. is this ok to do and do many other foreigners to Thailand do this?
I’m 19 years old and looking to stay in Thailand long term as an English teacher. I am American native English speaker. I will have my 120 hr tefl certification in three weeks. I’d much rather prefer to tutor but if I needed to teach in a school I could do that. I don’t have 800,000 thb saved but I could borrow it for 24hrs to show them a bank statement. Any ideas?

I’m planning on moving to Thailand permanently from the US in 2-3 months and starting to think about which visa is the best to get.
I’ve been thinking about the Education Visa. Has anybody here done that? I heard it’s possible they might not let me extend it to a different visa after that year is up. True/false?
DTV visa - pros/cons?
Retirement visa - I am not pulling social security yet so I don’t have passive income. Is this still even an option? (I’m 50 years old.)
Tourist visa runs every 60/90 days. Is this really sustainable over years?
