Good morning from Scotland uk. I'm married to a wonderful Thai lady and have been since 1990. I have a Thai bank account with the Bangkok Bank. As there is NO Thai embassy in Scotland only a consulate , so if you require a visa of any kind you must go through the Thai Embassy in London. I'm now 70 years of age and my wife is 65 . I'd be grateful if you could advise us What we would require to stay in Thailand for between 3/6 months Many thanks William Taylor
Recently exited / re-entered Thailand (workcation) with interesting experiences.
My wife, who is a follower on my DTV exited and re-entered about 10 days after me.
I left for Bali, stayed 8 days, and upon re-entry, the officer was a little puzzled how I extended in-country for my first extension. She asked a colleague, verified, let me through. Easy.
My wife left for Bali, stayed 7 days, and upon re-entry was asked “how long do you plan to stay?”
Wife: “180 days”
Officer: *rolls eyes* “and what is your work?”
Wife: “I’m a stay at home mom, a follower on my husband’s visa.”
Officer: *rolls eyes again, frustrated* “You’re already been in Thailand for one year. And you want to keep doing like this?”
Sorry.....i Just got my DTV visa and plan to enter Thailand very soon.......my questione Is....do i have to do 90 days report? Or Just stay in the country for 180 days? Thanks
Hi 👋🏾 What are the advantages to getting a multi entry tourist visa vs. visa on arrival? I would still have to leave every 60 (or 90 w/extension) days, right? I have US passport. Thx.
How do you guys take SIM in Thailand? Is it straightforward, what documents they ask? Since I am planning to stay long-term (DTV) or at least visit time to time so visitor's SIM is not an option and I want to get a full local SIM. Where to get the SIM, at the airport or from city center for better rates? For the network, AIS is the best I guess?
Hi all, I am looking at staying in Thailand long term. Is the DTV worth it? Can you reapply for it once the 6 months expires?
I had planned on border hopping for a bit while i find a place to settle but I would be staying 30 days or so out of the country in Vietnam or Phillipines rather than day flights in and out.
My family and I are coming to Koh Samui for a 6-month stay. What's the recommended type of medical insurance? Is travel insurance or a local/domestic plan better for a long-term trip? We need coverage for sickness and emergencies. Appreciate the advice!
Question 1: Once I enter initially on a workation DTV, do I need to submit a TM-30 within a day or two? Question 2: Do I need to border bounce on day 180, or do I need to border bounce on day 179? When I re-enter the 180 day clock starts over, right? Or do I need to check in with immigration every 30 days?
