Because immigration really really don’t want to do it. There have been some very few successful extensions but I’d say 99% of holders just bounce out and back.

With a DTV you can stay in the country for 180 days. In theory you could get one extension for another 180 days but that’s incredibly hard to do.

The visa is valid for 5 years regardless that your course may only be for 6 months.

Currently there is no requirement to keep the 500k once the visa is issued - other than if you were trying for an extension.

Er? No it isn’t. There’s one side for remote work, but there’s the “soft power” side that allows for Thai cooking classes, or Muay Thai or medical or dental work.

Yes you can apply via Manila if you are currently in the Philippines. They will need proof that you are and you’ll need to stay there until the visa is approved.

Nope. Thailand doesn’t recognise “partnerships” whether you have children together or property.

If you were married then you could apply. If not you’d need your own application.

Thanks for the update. It might be helpful to advise of the immigration office you used. Each tend to have there own unique requirements.
