Hi, will I be accepted on my partners DTV if we are engaged and have children together? I’m getting mixed messages about this. We have been together for 10 years and have children, bought a house together etc.

Or is it strictly only accepted as a dependent on his visa if we are officially married? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, a dependent cannot be accepted on a partner's DTV visa unless they are officially married. Despite having children and cohabitating for an extended period, the Thai immigration system only recognizes marriage for visa applications. Individuals in such partnerships would need to apply for their own visa.

Think you need to apply for the DTV visa individually

Def not accepted. Need to be formally married and actually have to supply the marriage certificate

There are no mixed messages. You are either married and qualify or you are not married and don’t qualify.

Nope. Thailand doesn’t recognise “partnerships” whether you have children together or property.

If you were married then you could apply. If not you’d need your own application.
