Does the start of DTV visa have to start from the date of training or it can start from whenever I include on the application? For example, there is a program I am interested in starting in October but I want to be in Thailand from June. How would that work?

Question for fellow DTV holders.

I got my visa through a 6-month Muay Thai package and that confirmation letter is now expired. Do you guys keep an active subscription running somewhere, or just rely on the original letter from when you applied?

With recent reports of immigration asking for training photos and even calling gyms to verify, wondering what the smart play is. What are you all doing?🙏

Hello everyone,

Hello 👋

I’m currently preparing my application for the DTV Soft Power visa with a Muay Thai school. The school told me that my profile could be considered “high risk” for rejection because they can only issue a 6-month training program, and immigration authorities assess the credibility and consistency of the applicant’s plan. They also mentioned that while it’s technically possible to leave Thailand earlier than planned, it would be at my own risk and not recommended.

The thing is, my plan is not to stay continuously. I’d like to come and go, staying 2 to 4 months at a time over the 5-year period.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Could I run into issues when re-entering Thailand if I don’t follow the initial training plan strictly?

Also, do you know of any more flexible schools — especially in Koh Samui — that are used to this kind of setup?

Thanks a lot for your help!

DTV visa approved today in Hanoi! (Muay Thai soft power)

I am South Korean national. It took literally 3 business days :)

(I just got the good luck thanks to my friend's prayers)

I have been worried cause so many people got rejected DTV in Hanoi recently. I believe Hanoi doesn't reject everyone.

-Applied at 9:00 am on April 7th

-Requested additional documents : Gym owner's work permit page with valid date (I haven't checked the date, I just submitted what the gym gave to me, so please double check the valid date), I updated within an hour on April 8th

-Visa approved on April 9th, today around 6PM

My tips to share with you guys : make it simple and clear to make them understand easily!

1) Financial evidence :

-4 months bank balance statement ( krw & THB both used for currency in the statement), 5 months transaction

-I added on more account transaction ( my monthly salary I made in my country, last year til Jan this year, highlighten the income part)

+ I put the cover letter only in this file ( Mentioned I have sufficient money to stay and take training in Bangkok, big passion about training and love Thai culture)

2) Current location : passport stamp, ticket to Hanoi, and my air bnb receipt for 4 days in Hanoi)

3) Muay Thai gym document : certification, owner's work permit, owner's passport.

*Once you got the request of further document, please updated asap to make build the trust from Embassy.

*Don't add too many documents, it might make them feel tired to check all the documents. MAKE IT CEAR AND SIMPLE.

Hope this helps you guys!

GOOD luck everyone, you got this :)

I am applying for my DTV under the Soft Power (Muay Thai). I am using Issa Compass as the agency for my application. They are telling me that I need to upload pictures of me training in Muay Thai. I have zero Muay Thai experience so naturally I don’t have photos. Has anyone that applied through an agency, been told this before?

DTV Soft Power - Muay Thai Approved in Hanoi

Applied Thursday March 12

Approved Tuesday March 17 (~3 business days)

No additional documents.

I'm very grateful to this group and the detailed recommendations and accounts of so many members. Specifically, I followed these three posts and found them extraordinarily detailed and helpful:

[members only]/

[members only]/

[members only]/

so an additional thanks to Ire Ne, Pedro Carvalho, and whoever the third anonymous participant is. Though it will overlap significantly, there were a few pieces of my application that were specific to my circumstance, and may help others in the future, so I'll detail below what I included.

*Financial Evidence Documents *

* Cover letter - professional, concise, and deferential. Purpose, source of income, and a summary of the financial documents that would follow. I had more than 500K in my Wise account since January, so less than 3 months. This probably would have been fine, but just in case, I included a statement from my Korean bank from which I transferred that money, and in which I had more than 500K for several months. I highlighted and labeled the corresponding transfers so it was easy to track the movement of the funds, and confirm I had held 500K+ for more than 5 months. I explained all of this, and also that my Korean bank couldn't give me an English statement, so I translated key terms myself. Probably overkill, but I didn't want to leave any stone unturned. [Signed digitally]

* Table of contents

* Currency conversion proof (from xe.com screenshots of 500K THB to USD, and 500K THB to KRW) [Signed digitally]

* Wise proof of account ownership

* Wise statement (3 months + 5 days, with incoming transfers from my Korean bank labeled and highlighted)

* Korean bank proof of account ownership

* Korean bank statement (3 months, with outgoing transfers to my Wise account labeled and highlighted)

* An isolated chart showing each corresponding transfer. Again, probably overkill, but it was a complicated situation and I wanted to make the information as easily comprehensible as possible [Signed digitally]

*Muay Thai Course Documents - Bangkok Fight Lab*

* Cover letter - Very brief, just stating my intentions behind training, a sentence about the reputation of the gym, etc. The rest is of course documents provided by the gym. [Signed digitally]

* Table of contents

* Letter of invitation

* Payment invoice for the course

* Company affadavit (in Thai)

* Sports authority license

* Owner's passport and visa (he is American)

* Owner's work permit

* Owner's Thai wife's identification card (I guess this is required since he's American)

*Proof of Location*

* Cover letter - Also brief, just reiterating my itinerary, accommodation address, check-in/check-out, and clarifying I can/will extend my stay as long as necessary to wait for the outcome of the application (thankfully, wasn't necessary - I booked for 10 days, and tbh Hanoi is not an easy city to spend that much time in, personally).

* Table of contents

* Passport biodata page scan [Signed digitally]

* Passport Vietnam entry stamp page [Signed digitally]

* Boarding pass picture [Signed digitally]

* Picture of me in front of accommodation, with date/time/Apple Maps pin from the "info" button in Photos on my iPhone [Signed digitally]

* Picture of a receipt from a store in Hanoi, date and time highlighted, next to a picture of me holding said receipt in front of said store [Signed digitally]

* Vietnam e-visa

* Flight & accommodation confirmation

Like everyone else, I used ilovepdf to merge, page number, and compress (under 3mb each!!) each PDF. Each page that I added (for example cover letters, table of contents, etc) had a uniform header with my full name, passport number, and address in Hanoi.

Overall very straightforward. Again, many have already laid out flawless directions, but I'm happy to answer any questions that may apply to my situation. Thanks again everyone and don't sweat it, it pretty much seems like as long as you prepare properly, double check everything, are professional and deferential in your writing, and slap some digital signatures on everything, you'll be good.

DTV from Vietnam – Russian citizen, Bangkok, Muay Thai, mother as sponsor, low self-employment income. Any advice?

Hi everyone,

I’m a 25 yearold Russian citizen, currently in Thailand on a tourist visa. I’m planning to apply for the DTV (Soft Power / Muay Thai) from Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi) soon. I’d really appreciate any insights or shared experiences from people in a similar situation.

Main questions:

1. I’m self-employed with a small monthly income

I have proof of self-employment

2. Is a mother sponsoring her daughter generally accepted by the Thai embassy in Vietnam?

3. Income vs. sponsor: My own income is low, but I have a strong sponsor (mother). Is it better to mention my self-employment in the application, or should I just rely on the sponsor and not mention my income to avoid confusion?

4. Muay Thai school: Has anyone used Sor.Dechapant for their DTV application? Did the embassy accept their documents without issues? Or could you recommend a different Muay Thai school in Bangkok?

5. Processing time in Vietnam: For those who applied from Vietnam recently, how long did it take? Any interview requests?

I’d be very grateful for any advice or shared experiences. Thank you in advance!
