What should I know about visiting immigration offices in Thailand before the April 17th closure?

REMINDER

Tomorrow is the last day you can visit an immigration office until 17th April. If you need an extension or other service prior to the 17th then go tomorrow. Many offices will be very busy because of the upcoming closures.

Many offices will be absolutely manic on the 17th because of the 5 day closure. Also bear in mind that services can take extra time just purely because of the volume of people. It’s not the staffs fault that so many decide to show up at the same time.

If you can avoid going in tomorrow or the 17th then it’s probably wise to do so.

It highlights the expected crowds and longer wait times due to the volume of people seeking services. Additional comments discuss personal experiences and strategies, like using an agent for marriage visas, and mention how busy offices can vary by location.

Ok. Never see any posts on that office (that I recall). Busy by 9 probably means the 7 other foreigners in the area were there too 😀

I suspect Jomtien was a whole different ball game….

Does that apply to bank branches in shopping malls? I don’t have a clue as I’ve never tried to use one….

Bank branches tend to close the same dates as Immigration

Yes normal branches. Shopping mall ones seem to stay open 7 days a week. That’s why I asked.

Ya. Not excited to do my marriage visa tomorrow. But using an agent should help. We supposedly have an appointment. So we will see how it goes
