Hey guys, I was wondering what are the pros and cons of a dtv vs a marriage visa? We are planning to get married regardless so is it even worth a me going down the dtv route?

I have no doubt I will get a few but pls refrain from sarcastic comments šŸ¤£šŸ™

It looks like DTV is worth considering as an alternative long-term visa that can be renewed every 180 days (or 6 months) and its requirements seem easier than retirement visa to meet - do you think so?

Hi. Does anyone have any recent experience of living in the Philippines and came make some positive/negative comparisons to living in the Thailand? How do costs and standards of living compare? Iā€™m quite interested in areas outside of the main cities. Iā€™m actually in Bohol, Philippines and considering a move to Thailand

I would rather hear from people who have actual experience rather than just thoughts or theories about it.

Thank you

Long-term Resident Visa (LTR)

Hey folks,

Is there anybody thinking about to stay in Thailand with the new LTR Visa?

In my eyes, the current requirements, makes the LTR Visa not more interesting than the previous Visa.

What are the big differences?

- For retirees there was the ā€žNon Immigrant O Visaā€œ.

- For wealthy people there was the ā€žElite Visaā€œ.

- For investors and people who wanted to work in Thai industry, there was the ā€œSmart Visaā€.

- For the ā€œWork From Thailand Professionalsā€ who are really interested on a better and easier Visa there are still too much requirements.

So what's the big deal?

The only benefit I see is the extension interval from 90 days to 1 year.

But what are the other big benefits?!

I don't get it.

Maybe someone can explain it to me.

Hi, I remember in the past people saying if you are going to stay 90 days or more is still better the TR visa than the STV. Is this still the case now that there is no quarantine?

Also, for the TR visa, the return ticket to show in the airport (if requested) can be within 90 days or needs to be 60? Asking because I am planning to extend

Hi all

I have just returned from immigration (Samut Prakan). I was told not to bother getting my Non O (marriage) visa as I currently have a Non B (work) visa. The immigration officer said there is no benefit in transferring my visa. According to her, a Non B is superior.

Any advice for those of you who have experience this?

Im curious to know if I would still need to do things like 90days reporting and pay for re-entry permits on a Non O.

Thanks for you help!

Does anyone has experience with Thai Elite visa? They offer a 20 years visa for 1 million THB. As far as I understand you are able to stay as long as you like in Thailand, just need to make a 90 day report. No other requirements like cash deposits or health insurance or other documents (like reentry permit) are needed. Is this right?

Hi All Does anyone know the definitive benefits of having a Non-immigrant O visa, which I have and is about to expire! over the Elite visa which is (just found out is a tourist visa)! The thought of a 5 years visa would be an annual chore out of the way but at the expense of 500,000 baht. One difference I know of is that you can open a bank account in Thailand with a Non-imm O visa which you cannot with a tourist visa. After making several enquiries to Immigration, Lawyers and so on, so far no list of definitive differences. I have been approved for the Elite visa but not sure it will give me issues further down the line. Any input would be most appreciated Thank you in advance Chris
