Ok. Well that’s a wrap. All immigration offices around the country are now closed for 5 days. They will reopen on Tuesday the 18th April.
If your entry stamp or extension stamp runs out between now and the 18th don’t panic. Go to the immigration office on the 18th (not after) and apply for your extension as normal. You won’t be fined, but you’ll get a stamp in your passport saying something like “overstay - fine waived due to (office) closure”.
If you can avoid going to immigration on Tuesday 18th then I’d suggest you do so. Many offices will be absolute bedlam because of the closures and filled with people who should have known better 😀
TLDR : Answer Summary
All immigration offices in Thailand will be closed for five days and will reopen on April 18th. If your visa or extension stamp expires during this period, you can visit the immigration office on April 18th without the risk of being fined, as an exception will be noted in your passport. However, it is advisable to avoid visiting on that day due to the expected high volume of applicants.
