December / New Year’s immigration office closures.

Please be aware that immigration offices around the country will be closed on these dates (other than usual weekend closures).

Thursday 5th December

Tuesday 10th December

Saturday 28th December until Wednesday 1st January.

Offices will re-open on Thursday 2nd January.

Many offices are busy following a closure day and will be super busy after a 5 day closure.

If you can avoid going on those days it’s probably best to do so.

Office closures do not affect airports, nor land or sea borders.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Immigration offices in Thailand will be closed on specific dates in December and January for the New Year holiday. The closures are as follows: December 5th, December 10th, and from December 28th until January 1st, reopening on January 2nd. It is advisable to avoid visiting these offices immediately following the closures as they tend to be busy. Note that these closures do not impact airports or land and sea borders.

My birthday is January 24th. Do you know if immigration is doing anything special this year?

I’ve not been given any information about a special closure date for the 24th, but I wish you good luck and a premature birthday wish.
