October holidays for immigration offices.

Please be aware that

Monday October 14th and

Wednesday October 23rd

are public holidays and all immigration offices will be closed.

Airports or land borders are not affected by these closures.

If you have a stamp that expires on one of these dates then either apply early for an extension or go the next open day. For the latter you’d get a small stamp in Thai saying “overstay, fine waived due to closure”.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Immigration offices in Thailand will be closed on Monday, October 14th, and Wednesday, October 23rd, due to public holidays. It is advisable for visa holders with stamps expiring on these dates to either apply for an extension early or visit the office on the next available day, as they will receive a small stamp indicating 'overstay, fine waived due to closure.' Airports and land borders will not be affected by these closures.

Hi Stuart. Quick question. My Non O is about to expire and I'm headed to a neighboring country for a few weeks then want to return. Can I get another Non O there or does it have to be in my home country? If I go to Pattaya with 2

weeks left on my Non O, would I be able to open a bank account in advance of getting a new Non O the retirement visa extension? Thanks, you're always very helpful.

@Eric *****
you won't be able to get a 12 month extension of your 90 day non-o visa unless you have 800k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months before you apply. I don't know what passport you hold but if you're embassy in Thailand will issue an income affidavit you can use that as an alternative

US. I want to try and get a bank account on my current Non O and have the money already transferred when I return on my new one. If that’s possible with 2 weeks left on my current one. And that $800,000 baht got a lot more expensive with the dive the USD exchange has taken recently.😡

You can get a non O in a nearby country, but you’ll need to check which one you’re going to use. Some are switching over to the evisa system as of the 8th October.

You can still go there to apply but it’s an online process. Because the change is so new we don’t have details of turnaround times that they will take.

that’s how I got my current one back home…that’s the ThaiEVisa.com site right? Will be any smoother since I have been approved previously and very recently?

What is celebrated on each of those two days?

The 14th is a substitute for the 13th which is the anniversary of the late kings passing.

The 23rd is Chulalongkorn day.
