ORIGINAL POSTER
There has been numerous media reports come out today stating big changes in visa entries to Thailand, including that visa exempt entries will get 60 days, and a reduction of the mandatory insurance requirement for OA and OX visas, as of June 1st

Not any official statements that I’ve seen so far but you can check out some details here - [members only]/

Now at this moment in time it’s press articles, so not guaranteed to change, but they state the cabinet have approved the measures. In 4 days we will find out.

it's official. However, this official poster published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 29, is still in the wrong.

Some countries are mentioned for the "60-days visa exempt" elegibility, AND also elegible for "visa-on-arrival".

This is most obviously WRONG. It can only be “either – or”

And since they made mistakes in this poster, I won’t touch and guarantee the “multiple entry” of the 5-year visa validity, either.

Welcome to Thailand, they never stop amazing me

do you think it will be extendable or only 60 days?

that's a good question. Actually, I don't know for sure. And also if you can do a border run to activate another 60 days, which would boost your visa-free stay to 120 days

We don’t have specific details as yet.

It’s never been only 2 visits per year for UK passport holders.

There’s a limit of two land border entries using visa exempt entries but not via air.

There was never a limit of 6 air entries let alone 2. It’s at the discretion of the immigration officer so it’s up to them.

Yes that’s something that’s published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They have nothing to do with immigration and obviously don’t talk to them about their policies. A number of consulate/embassy websites spout these untruths. There is nothing in Thai law that limits the number of entries visa exempt by air.

500k proof of funds for the 6 months + 6 months (10k baht extension) wtv name it's call. It won't work. They need to remove the proof of funds.

I think proof of funds is fine if it doesn't have to be moved into Thailand.

a marriage Non O has a 400K fund requirement and a Non O retirement has a THB 800K. These are very popular.

Also, most people have money invested, and will not tie up 500k baht for months in an account. We've been through this before with other visa attempt.

Those are significantly better because you can extend forever without leaving the country. This one is 6 months only with 10k baht to extend another 6 months. And the reason why the LTR failed completely is because of too much financial requirement.

So do we know if the visa exempt is now going to be 60 days total from the start or 60 + a 30 day extension?

from what I'm reading, 60 day exemption on arrival with a 30 day extension, for a possible 90 days consecutive.

yes that will be the gig I am sure! It would make the current 60 day TV obsolete so I am wondering if they upgrade this to a 90 day TV which with the 1900bht extension would get you 4 months in Paradise with the minimum of stress! 🙏

One article stated that they were increasing the countries from 57 to 92 and went on to list 13 counties, some of which are already given visa exemption.

So until something official comes out I don’t have a list.

Hi Stuart. What exactly constitutes a digital nomad? Can anyone use this visa? It's seems to be more attractive than a retirement visa at first glance...180 days + 180 days. Is it that simple or am I missing something? The thing I didn't like about the retirement visa is having to have a signed lease for a year. I would rather move from Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Chaing Mai, etc, every few months.
