Ok, so now the Thai embassies and consulates in Cambodia, Malaysia and Vietnam have switched over to the e-visa system.

That means you must apply online to use one of those places. You will no longer be allowed to attend the embassy or consulate in person.

As for them the system is new we won’t have any information about typical processing times for a while yet.

If you’re applying through one of them soon then please post your experiences here so we can try to gain an insight.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Thai embassies and consulates in Cambodia, Malaysia, and Vietnam have transitioned to an e-visa system, requiring applicants to submit their applications online instead of visiting in person. The timeline for processing times remains unclear due to the new system. Users are encouraged to share their experiences with the e-visa application process to provide insights for others.

Tourist visa is not really a thing anymore so it affect almost nobody. They probably expect 90% reduction in people going there at this point.

Ok so if I was to go to Vietnam so I could apply for the Thailand DTV would this now be done online too? I ask because the YT video I watch about the process the applicant didn't seem to go to any fancy Thai embassy

Yes anything you have found online is no longer applicable. Everything is done online now. You can apply online as soon as you arrive in Vietnam. But as Stuart said, no one knows what the processing time will be. It varies greatly from embassy to embassy. For example in London they process most in 2-3 days. In Paris they take 1-2 months. It's anyone's guess at this point.

You apply online from Vietnam. I doubt there are any YT videos of it as they only switched over today.
