@Paulie *******
My Lao wife and British son crossed at Chong Mek but I had to arrange "hospital" transport to the ASQ in Bangkok. This was in August. Not cheap but the only way I could get them home.

I doubt it. But why wouldn't you be able to go to CM? There are currently no travel restrictions within Thailand.
Henry *********
In Bangkok there's an appointment system and you have to wait around 3 months. As
@Kool ******
says you can renew up to 1 year after expiry. After that, it's starting again from scratch.

The UK only issue ETDs (Emergency Travel Document) if you lose your passport and need to travel urgently. I would apply for the new one as quickly as possible, and you'll have to take the damaged one to Thai Immigration and see what they say.

@Lee *********
How damaged is your passport? Have Thai Immigration confirmed it is too damaged for an Extension stamp?

@Lee *********
I would. It took over 8 weeks to renew my son's passport. Once you submit the application it's sent to HMPO in Liverpool. Due to Christmas and Covid, I would think they are taking a while.

Depends on how busy they are; usually a couple of weeks. You can "walk-in" but you have to pay 1500 baht.

No. But check the schedule which shows what extra info you need. You may need proof of address in Thailand.
