Hi everyone. I'm traveling soon and will be there for 31 days, leaving on the 31st. Would I need to extend my 30-day stay because of that departure day? Does that day count as an effective day? Thanks in advance.

I will be entering Thailand by flight, genuine tourist. I will have the money, the onward flight ticket, as for show of accomodation how many nights must i show please. I will be on a visa exempt.

Border Runs on Visa exempt?

Can anyone advise on what would happen if a border run attempt was made with the new restrictions?

Arrived on 60 day visa exempt and then additional 30 day extension has been made whilst there

Can someone leave the country and re enter the same day or a few days later and get a new 60 day visa exempt?

A lot of previous years this has been done with a boat trip out and back again same day, unsure if this can now be done?

Know people can just apply for different visas in future etc, just asking for this occasion.

Asking for someone who is there and the 30 days extension expires in a few days and they’re unsure if return home or attempt a border run.

I was denied entry into Thailand once last April due to visa runs. But was eventually able to get in a few days later. I then left two months later and haven’t been back since. I’m planning to go back in April making it 1 year since I was denied and about 10 months since I was last there. What are the chances I am denied entry again? I’ll only stay for 55 days with return ticket, funds, and accommodations. But I’m flying from the States and I don’t want to be turned around and sent back. Should I just go with an agency that will get me in? Or is a year enough time.

Quick question about re-entering Thailand.

I entered Thailand in November 2024 with a Single Entry Tourist Visa, used it fully including the extension, and then did two visa runs, extending those as well. In total I stayed until 31 July 2025 (around 8–9 months in Thailand).

Since then I’ve been outside Thailand and now plan to re-enter on 16 March 2026 visa-exempt.

I know that nobody can give a definite answer since it always depends on the immigration officer, but I’d be interested in your opinions or experiences. Does being outside Thailand for about 7–8 months usually reset the pattern, or could this still raise questions at immigration?

I usually travel twice a year to Thailand on a visa exempt, travelling from Australia. Never had an issue as duration is 3 or 4 weeks each stay. Real tourist here.

This year, I want to travel 3 or 4 times but think this might be pushing it with visa exempt each time. I'm wondering if it's worth getting METV for this year or the IO will still be happy with visa exempt, given I've had short stays only?

If I stay 61 days in Thailand on a 60 day Visa exempt, what will happen at the airport when I depart on the 61st day? I've made a mess of my airline booking. Would I be best to apply for the 30 day extension at the immigration office? Trying to do what is most cost effective. Changing airline ticket would cost the most I think....

I applied for a 90 days O visa on January 23 at the Thai Embassy Belgium. I got a receipt the same day, 80 euros.

My flight will be February 20. If I don't get my visa what is the best way I can do? Explain to Immigration when I get there?

I arrived with a 60 Visa exempt, staying for 120 days.

I had intended to fly to Vietnam for a week then get another 60 day on my return.

I'm loving Thailand too much and don't want to go to Vietnam now.

Can I spend 3 nights in Laos crossing by land and get 30 days on my return and then get another 30 days at an immigration office later on?
