I’ve just renewed my passport so my non-o visa based on marriage to a Thai is in my old passport. Do I need to update my TM30 with my new passport details? Also I recently re-entered Thailand on a re-entry permit and did not need to do a TM6. WIll this be an issue when it comes to renewing my non-o? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual needs to update their TM30 with their new passport details after renewing their passport, especially since their non-O visa based on marriage is in the old passport. They should visit the local immigration office to transfer the visa stamps to the new passport. It's advisable to confirm with the immigration officer whether the TM30 needs to be updated during that visit, though re-entering Thailand without completing a TM6 isn't expected to cause issues for future non-O visa renewals.

If your extension of stay is based on employment you will need to provide a copy of your work permit to change stamps to new passport. At chaeng wattana today and will return again tomorrow with work permit copies.

Bring both passports to your local immigration office (that issued your last extension) and apply for transfer stamps as Robert explains. Check with your IO during your visit about TM30, anyway, you re-entered Thailand recently, maybe better to do TM30 with your new information. TM6 shouldn't be a problem for your next application.

Here is general information to transfer stamps. You don't need an embassy letter (you didn't get your new one from them)

thanks! So I’ll need to transfer the stamps over to the new passport before I can apply for my non-O extension?

Right. Without transferring stamps, you cannot apply for new extension.

if I make an appointment on the website, should it be the Transfer Visa/Cancel visa if Business visa option? It’s the only one that looks relevant in that list.

, you have an extension based on marriage to a Thai, you cannot book an appointment in Bangkok for transferring stamps. Just go and get the queue there

I guess you have an Extension of Stay based on being married with a Thai National.

You have to visit the Immigration Office to transfer the stamps into your new passport, you need the letter from your Embassy if you applied for the new passport inside Thailand. As you are in the Immigration Office to transfer the stamp, you can ask if the update of the address registration is needed.

thanks for your reply. I received my new passport in the UK and re-entered on the new passport and using the re-entry permit from my old passport.

You won't need the Embassy letter then.
