Just wondering if anyone has had a similar situation to the following…….I have a non b visa and am flying to the UK today. I will be returning to Thailand next month but I currently don’t have any free pages in my passport. My plan was to get a new UK passport when I am back home but my current visa stamp will then be in the old passport. The new passport number also then won’t match the one linked to my work permit. I will take the old passport with me to the airport too but it will obviously be cut and technically not active. Does anyone foresee any issues upon re-entry with this or actually done it before themselves? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is concerned about returning to Thailand with a non-B visa stamped in an old passport that will be rendered inactive. They plan to apply for a new UK passport and worry about the new passport number not matching the work permit in Thailand. Comments suggest bringing both passports to immigration upon re-entry, as the visa in the old passport remains valid despite the passport being inactive. It is also advised to ensure there's enough room in the old passport for necessary permits, and to start the passport renewal process promptly.
I hope you can get a new passport within a month. It seems to be difficult nowadays. UK governement recently talked about 10 weeks. Start the proces asap and see if there is a way to speedup/fasttrack this proces.
Not necessary if the new passport is issued in the UK, as it will be stamped upon arrival in Thailand. A letter is only required for a "virgin" passport.
You take both passport with you on return and show this to Immigration.
Your passport might be invalid but the Thai Extension of Stay and Re-Entry Permit stays valid to use.
You will get the entry stamp in your new passport. After arrival change of work permit can be done at Ministry of Labor and transfer of Extension of Stay/visa info at immigration.
