So I got kinda screwed over today. Went in to do my 1 year retirement extension. I had all the correct documents, including my bank stuff.

Got shut down.

After working 4 years in China, when I came back, I used a lawyer (agency) to move things along. They changed my visa to a non o and then at about 75 days after that, had immigration change it to a Non O retirement. I did all my 90 day reports everything was cool. That was done in Phetchaburi btw.

I’ve since moved to Bangkok I went in today and the immigration officer told me they have nothing on me ! My OA and extension don’t exist in their computers. I’ve basically been here for the last 15 months illegally.

He was cool though and knew right away what had happened between the agency and Phetchaburi immigration. I guess he didn’t also want to raise a stink on my local IO. So he told me I need to leave the country, get either a new OA or a tourist visa and then CW will change it to the one year extension (legally.)

So now I’m looking at flights around Thai embassy cities.

Any recommendations on the least painless, most simple Embassy to get a quick in and out ?

I used to go to Vientiane all the time , but that’s been many moons ago.

Just spent one whole day at chaiyaphum immigration office. Just wanted to get extension for 1 year non o visa. Unbelievable.my wife asked how much longer and he brought my passport and extension out.

Just wanted to say my wife and I had a pleasant experience at the Krabi Immigration office this morning to get our 30 day extension.

We came with our passports and 4000 baht. They charge 1900 baht per person for the 30 day extension. They also charge 100 baht per person to make photo copies of our original stamp, copies of our passport info and to take our photos. All took about 15 minutes.

We showed up around 9:30am and were the only people there. We also asked our taxi driver to hangout so he could take us back to Ao Nang. I appreciate all the helpful posts and information shared in this group. 🙏🏽

This group has been extremely helpful, I wanted to give an update on the covid extension experience today - My daughter has just been granted her second Covid extension. Process extremely smooth at Chaeng Wattana, in and out in 30 mins. She arrived in November 2021 on a 60 day tourist visa, got 30 day extension and then a 60 day covid extension until 22 March. Today’s extension was added on to the end of her previous covid extension (even though she is applying almost a month in advance), taking her to 21 May 2022. The IO also did the 30 report at the same time. Great service.

Just wanted to share my experience & offer tips on my recent covid extension at PHUKET immigration (Phuket town).

Context - I arrived to Thailand Nov.13, 2021 on a 60-day tourist visa. Did a 30-day extension when I was living in Chiang Mai.

On Feb.9th, I went to Phuket Town immigration to file for my 1st covid extension, requesting 60days.

Tip #1 - you will DEF NEED A PRINTOUT of your TM-30.

A screenshot from your landlord is NOT GOING TO WORK (I think prev. This did work). After waiting in line for 45min, this was the one thing I didn’t have.

Not a big deal - just goto the photocopy area in back of building.

You can send a screenshot to their LINE or WA - just use QR code to add them.

It’s 5 THB.

#2 - While you are there, also get a copy of your passport, departure card (I think TM6) & visa stamp. 2THB each. Also have a photo of yourself (can get it done there).

#3 - When you are done, goto the immigration office and goto the 2nd floor.

Fill out the 3 forms (I can’t remember, TM2, 7?). They are on a counter.

Have 1900 THB.

#4 - Wait in line for the 1 counter that’s directly in front of everybody (the counters to the left aren’t open).

Unfortunately there’s not much direction or signage to direct people. I had to ask people waiting in line if this was correct.

After giving them your paperwork, they will give you ticket # to come back next day.

This took me about an hour of waiting in total. Went in around 3pm, done 4pm.

#5 - I came back the day after and went to the counter on the left and picked it up. In/out 1-min. This gave me the 60-day stamp.

*Pls note, there is no "15-day consideration stamp" which is what Chiang Mai does.

#6 - Last thing - don’t be rude to the volunteer or staff! Watch your tone of voice.

They are there helping us & doing their best.

Show patience, respect & gratitude. Your crappy attitude doesn’t help! Remember - We are a guest in their country.

Dear group, I'm confused and overwhelmed, I've just returned from the Songkhla immigration office where I've been informed it's not possible to apply for a non immigrant 0 visa long stay based on retirement in Thailand, that I must depart and apply outside of Thailand ,they suggested Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos.

I'm here on a 60 TR that I extended 30 days. About money, They were not interested in any TTR codes or where my 800,000 came from. Have others in the group been successful in applying for non 0 inside Thailand?, if so, which province? TIA

I went to CW today for a visa extension based on COVID-travel restriction and got the 60 days straight without having to go back after 2 weeks. I was on Non-B prior to covid-related reason extension so I've been doing my 90 days notification at MTT on separate dates (online is not working for me after my Non-B was cancelled). I observed that IOs there were already asking for the TM47 (90 days notification) receipt and collecting 2000 baht fine for those who have none. I've witnessed 5 people under different IO experiencing this while I was waiting for my officer to finish checking the usual documents I gave him (took him 10-15 minutes to finish, which I think was oddly killing time). So just want to let others know what could be expected if you do your extension in CW.

Went today in the afternoon after 2pm, 18th May 2021 to transfer from my old passport to my new one.

There's only 1 person ahead of me.

Got my transfer done in 30 mins and then have to Re queue to get a new number to apply for CoViD19 extension since my expiry is with 30 days.

Paid 1900 bahts and waited for another 30mins.

2 sets of photocopies and the newly transferred stamps photocopies needed too.

Asked if CoViD19 extension will be extended, she replied, just wait for announcement.

Went to Hua Hin Immigration yesterday to do my retirement extension. I use the regular income method from my super pension and transfer from oz as needed. First went to Blueport weeks ago and told I needed Thai bank statement (not Aust) so I went to Kasikhornbank and got a full statement for 14 months (200baht)

New immigration office is a bit of a nightmare compared to old. Old queuing system not installed. Had to sit with Officer just inside door who "checked" all documents and eventually gave me a number. Place was full of waiting people at 3.30pm

After about 30 minutes my number was called. Officer looked at my statement which showed the deposits which exceeded the amount required per month each month. He consulted a fellow officer and then the boss and told me I needed a further statement from Kasikhornbank International that showed details of the international transfers. Said it could take 2 weeks.

Headed straight to Kasikhornbank with a handwritten note of requirement. Was going good as girl charged me 100 baht for a letter then when gf arrived and explained again what she had been told (and I assume was written on the paper in thai) I was advised a statement from Kasikhornbank International would cost 1500 baht (yes 1500 baht as K had recently raised it's fee for this service) and indeed could take 2 weeks (although I was promised it in I week)

This appears the new requirement as at Immigration I was shown another applicants statement as an example (no privacy in Thailand 😏)

Will be interested to here costs of other banks for this service.
