What should we do about a missing "admitted until" stamp after a re-entry to Thailand?

My wife has an Extension until 30 Nov 2018 and a multiple re-entry permit. On returning from Laos yesterday, via Chong Mek, her "admitted until" stamp was left blank, although the departure card was stamped until 30 Nov 2018. Does it matter. She'll be leaving the country again in April.

Send her to the immigration office that her extension is issued from and see if they'll correct the stamps.

Cheers. Stamping it with a date stamp I have at work is probably not a good idea, although I can't see how they would know!

@He***
, somehow I think her not seeing what the problem is isn't gonna cut any ice with the immigration officers if she doesn't do anything about this and shows up at the airport ready to fly out in April.

Good Luck, hope it works out. Guess she'll check her entry stamps when she comes into the country from now on :)

you might take a day off and fix it with her - as she need go to in Person -

Not so easy. I work full-time and our kid has to be collected from school at 12 every day. Chaengwattana is the other side of Bangkok. My wife can't see what the problem is. I think I'll let her handle it!

She can't go back to Chong Mek as it's 8 hours away. When she goes back to Laos in April it will be from Suvanarbhumi Airport and it will be just her and our 3-year-old. Her Extension is valid until 30 Nov, as is her re-entry permit and the departure card which they collect has the correct admitted until stamp. What's the worst that can happen at the airport, bearing in mind she'll be holding a 3 year old?

If they wanna be hard core, they'll tell her she's in the country illegally because she didn't check her stamp before she left the passport control office and that it's the responsibility of the passport holder to do that.

It does matter a GREAT deal.

I don't know if your local immigration office can fix the stamp or not.

Usually when the stamp is wrong from the border (like the wrong date) you can get it corrected at your local immigration office BUT this one is missing the "admitted until" date entirely. In situations where people forgot to stamp in they were sent back to the border they entered at to get the stamp corrected. I think for you it could go either way.

All you can do is go to the immigration office and see if they'll correct it.

Do it before she leaves the country in April.

Report back and let is know what they did to correct it okay?
