What are the requirements and implications for filing a TM30 report in Thailand, particularly regarding my family?

TM30 Chaengwattana update.

I've lived and worked in Bangkok for 14 years and like many had never done a TM30 report. Now that it is a requirement I decided to do my first ever report by mail (like I do for my 90 day reports).

I mailed in the form, in my Landlord's name, with me, my wife, and son listed on the reverse, together with all the copies of documents listed by Tod. I mailed it by EMS with the return envelope also EMS stamped.

3 weeks later, I received the receipt and schedule. No fine.

Hopefully this is now it until I move address or leave the country.

One query is that my wife and son will be going to Laos in July, but not me. Presumably, as we only have one receipt and schedule for all 3 of us, I won't need to submit a new report when they return?

Edit: The last time our teachers were at Chaengwattana doing their Extensions, they were told that they didn't need to submit a new TM30 report unless they moved to a new permanent address. I think I'll follow this advice and risk my wife/son getting a fine when we do our family Extensions in November.

The author shares their experience of filing a TM30 report for the first time after living in Bangkok for 14 years, highlighting that they mailed the report without encountering fines. They express concern about future travel for their wife and son, questioning whether a new report is required upon their return. The discussion among commenters clarifies that the schedule received lists all foreigners at the address and emphasizes the necessity of address registration for all foreigners, regardless of family status.

The address registration is needed for every foreigner and the rules has to be followed by every foreigner. That you are married, have children does not exclude you wedded partner and children to follow the rules of this country. But as in this country children till 15 years of age do not get fined, you could get away with that. Here you can read all we know about this address registration

@Jussi *******
It's part of the TM30 form, on the back.

I see. Is it similar form and listing as you filled for TM30? I am condo owner and do reports online so have never seen any receipts. Your wife and son might be fined in case they fail to report new TM30 every time after arriving the country.
