Returning to Thailand on a non o based on visiting family on 25th Nov 2025 ! With the new e-gates my passport won't get stamped ! Is there a way to get a physical stamp , as banks , driving license applications ect need to see visa status and don't often accept printed copy of visa !
I have dtv visa i get in march this year and i stayed 180 days after that i travel to vietnam for a week and come back and that time their is no new visa rules and they didnt ask me anything and i came normally without hustle . But if i go again and come back do i need to show them proof of 500k in bank acount and also does i need to show my soft thai activities program again which is already completed but this time do i neeed to show again ?
First entry on my DTV via Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. Gave my passport, boarding pass and my cute little passport-size laminated DTV. The latter seemed to raise concern of the officer, she pressed the yellow button and I was pulled aside. Two other officers came, one checked the visa on her mobile terminal, another one invited me to a closed desk. Scanned my passport a few times, scanned my fingerprints twice (obviously something wasn’t working properly with the computer) then asked for TDAC. Checked the printed form, retyped my accommodation address, and stamped me in for 180 days.
Generally nice, easy and calm process.
Thanks again for this group for helping me out on each and every stage of the process of obtaining the visa!
I got approved for the DTV using Discover Thai Nature about six months ago. I'm going to enter the country for the first time in about a month ( I haven't attended any sessions in person, obviously because I'm in the U.S ) and I'm wondering what I might get asked for when I go through customs. Has anyone gone through with Discover Thai Nature and been asked specific questions, or asked to prove 500,000 baht in an account?
Should I have printouts of the schedule or anything in particular to have on hand in case I get asked questions about my course? If it matters,I'll be flying into Chiang Mai.
1. I am in the uk at the minute about to apply online for my dtv visa, one of the questions at the end asks me to prove my current location how do I do this?
2. I am doing it through soft powers with a Muay Thai school in Bangkok, would it be a problem if I flew into Phuket from the uk instead of Bangkok ?
Hi everyone, I already have an approved DTV visa, but I need to renew my passport soon.
After I get my new passport, my DTV visa will still be in my old one. In this case, can I bring both my old and new passports when I enter Thailand? Will immigration accept that?
My old passport may be marked as invalid (cut corner or stamped), but the DTV visa page will remain intact.
Has anyone had experience entering Thailand like this? Or should I apply for a visa transfer to the new passport after arriving?
Hey everyone, looking for some advice from the group.
I hold both US and Russian passports. I have a DTV visa issued to my US passport, but for this particular trip I want to enter Thailand using my Russian passport instead (visa exemption).
My reason: 16 days after arrival to Thailand I'm traveling onward to where my Russian passport works better and want to keep travel continuity.
Has anyone entered Thailand on a different passport than the one with their DTV visa? Any issues at Thai immigration? I'm prepared with explanations and all my bookings are on the Russian passport, but wondering if this will create problems.
Would appreciate any experiences or thoughts from the group. Thanks!
