If I have enough money in my bank account for my trip to Thailand, but my sponsor will still cover all my expenses, do I still need an Affidavit of Guarantee?"
"Where can I get an Affidavit of Guarantee if my foreign live-in partner is traveling with me from the Philippines to Thailand for a vacation?"
I have been in Thailand for 90 days. I arrived in Thailand on November 25, 2024. I had not applied for a visa, but was granted a stay of 60 days. I have also not booked a return trip. On January 27, 2025, I was granted a 30-day extension. On February 25, 2025, I checked out of Thailand in Nong Khai and entered Laos. I plan to stay there for a week before returning to Thailand.
I read on the Thai-E Visa Office website that I do not need to apply for a visa if I am only going to stay for 60 days. But I have to fill out some forms online. This website is somewhat confusing. The form asks me to define which visa I am applying for. Which conflicts with - not needing a visa. Has anyone done this "gymnastics" and can guide me? And... do I have to book a trip out?
Other request documents: - Your recent (balance within last 30 days ) personal (cash flow / current account )UK/Ireland bank statement shows your name, your UK/Ireland address, and a minimum closing balance of 11,000 GBP (Screenshots are not accepted).
As I live in between two countries I can provide my overseas account with the relevant funds but not my uk account. I can transfer money from my overseas account back into my uk account to provide the amount required but will the embassy accept this on short notice? I have already provided my overseas account with GBP in there also but this wasn’t accepted as they’ve asked again.
Other request documents: - Please upload your E-Ticket of your Flight booking showing your name as passenger , departure date, all flights en route from UK/Ireland/UK territories to Thailand
Is there anyway I can buy a ticket without paying for it for a month or so as I’m not exactly sure when I’ll leave for Thailand.
Any help would be greatly appreciated to overcome these questions.
Will arrive in Bangkok on 31st January for onward travel to Koh Samui for 3 months visiting friends instead of my usual 60 days, in the past I have only had my passport stamped with a 30 day visa and have extended it on the island for another 30 days.
I keep hearing that this is now 60 days with the option to extend for another 30 days, is this true and if so is it done automatically on arrival or do I have to ask for it. And do I need to show any documents e.g. my return flights.
If you’re planning to travel to Vietnam for DTV, don’t forget to check if you need a visa for Vietnam (especially if you’re from the USA, Australia, the UK, Switzerland, etc.).
I missed my flight today because of this—the airline couldn’t let me check in! 😆
