When applying for a retirement visa, do you need your health insurance stamped and a form filled out by the insurer? Just been advised by a well know insurer (international) they don’t do this.
Hello. Are there anyone who recently renewed their thai retirement visa?
My mom’s 15-month retirement visa will expire soon and she wants to renew for another one year. What are the recently updated required documents? She’ll have to renew it in Bangkok Chaeng Wattana Immigration..
We already have all other documents (financial proof and the rental contract, etc) that meets the requirements, except for the health insurance.. Is health insurance certificate required for visa renewal?
And also, what’s the visa renewal fee and the multiple re entry fee?
Los Angeles, California is consulate with jurisdiction.
Planning to travel in early December.
The website says I have 90 days to get stamped in to Thailand, so all my required documents are ready except insurance certificate.
If I was to apply early, does the health insurance need to be valid at the time of application, or can it have a December start date?(And December flights)
I like to have things ready well ahead of time, but do not want to waste application fees by submitting incorrect documents, or only be stamped in for 10 months because I applied early and burned through 2 months o insurance when I was not in Thailand yet.
My wife and I plan to retire to Thailand next year, am I best applying for our Non Immigrant O visas in Australia or doing them locally when arriving in Thailand
I recently saw an agent advertising the flexibility and cost saving benefits not requiring health insurance if applying for them locally.
Interested in your feedback especially if you have entered Thailand as a tourist and taken the steps to transition to a retirement visa
Applying for non o visa from UK to get extension based on retirement after 60 days. However, when I get to the bottom of the form it’s asks for evidence of health insurance and foreign insurance certificate. I thought this was not needed for non o visa? Am I doing something wrong?
My husband and I were planning to spend at least a year in Thailand, hopefully more- could be > 5 years if it works out that way.
We are both over 50 and can meet the income requirement for the Non-O retirement visa. I should hopefully have no issues getting health insurance as I am about a decade younger (under 60) with no health issues, but my husband is > 65 (no major issues either except a touch overweight and mild HTN which I can see can lead to a possible denial).
We can certainly keep money aside to self insure. I see expats all the time saying they self insure, but this does not appear to be an option for any Visa except the Elite or the DTV. .
Should I get a non-O retirement and hubby the DTV or is there a better option IF insurance is prohibitive? Would like to be able to open a bank account, and that's iffy right now on DTV.
So soon we need to go for Visa O-A Multiple Entry for extension to Laos, Nong Khai.
How im thankful got informed here I need to go for at least 24 hours to Laos and when I get back to Thailand Border Immigration I get one Year single Entry extension.
Sadly because Family circumstances we need to go over the Weekend. Is the Immigration open over the Weekend 30.8 to 31.8 there?
Hi all. Just got my Non immigrant O-A visa from the Thai embassy in SA. Valid until 25 Aug 26. What do I need to do when I arrive in Thailand. Want to live there full time I have a house there that I built with my Thai partner
I should have included this in my previous question about the visa processing timeline. When I completed the application, I accidentally input the wrong end date. I should have used the same date as my health insurance expiration, but I wasn't aware of this requirement and instead wrote an end date approximately 360 days from my planned arrival date.
My insurance expires about 2 weeks before the one-year anniversary of my arrival.
When I contact the consulate about their anticipated visa completion date, should I also correct this information? They'll likely discover the discrepancy during processing anyway.
