I leave my area of residence twice a month every month for the last three years staying in hotels in other Thailand places and never did anything. Never even thought of it. Have had no issues.

Yep, just did mine yesterday. It’s actually 5 years from your next birthday. That’s how mine is stamped anyway. Had to do the stupid office driving test again too and a trip to immigration to substantiate the extension of stay stamp already in my passport. But if you have a work permit the immigration trip is not required.

This stuff is getting crazy. I renewed my license the other day and even though I am on a valid extension of stay in my passport I still had to go to immigration to get a letter to substantiate it. It was a two day event.
