Will I need to show proof of funds upon returning to Thailand after a trip if I hold a yearly extension based on retirement?

ORIGINAL POSTER
I’m on a yearly extension of stay based on retirement with multi entry re-entry permit. I am taking a trip to Italy for a few weeks. I assume when I return to Thailand that I will not have to show 20,000 in baht, proof of residency and all that other stuff correct.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, who is on a yearly extension of stay based on retirement with a multi-entry re-entry permit, is inquiring if proof of funds (20,000 baht) and residency documentation will be required upon returning to Thailand after a trip to Italy. Commenters suggest that it is uncommon for individuals on a yearly extension to be asked for proof of funds.

I have never read a single instance of anyone on a yearly extension being asked for proof of funds.
