I visited back in January 11th for 7 weeks on visa exempt, then returned again mid May for 16 days then again mid September for another 16 days which on that occasion was asked how long would I be in thailand for by the IO, would it be fair to assume I'll be pulled aside or even denied entry if I was to return on the 9th December for 56 days? Any opinions guys as I'm seriously thinking of leaving it till January instead..

Just arrived at DMK…never seen such long lines at immigration. Either it’s the beginning of high season or immigration officers are taking time to scrutinize visa exempt travelers.

Hi everyone! I’m a bit confused about the new visa-exempt rules (60 days + 30-day extension), so I’d really appreciate your help.

I’m planning to stay in Thailand for about 90–97 days total, but during this period I will need to leave the country for a few days for international sports events.

My questions are:

1️⃣ If I leave Thailand before completing the first 60 days, and then come back, can I still apply for the +30-day extension later?

Or will immigration only give me the 7-day grace period after re-entry?

2️⃣ If I re-enter during the same 90–97-day overall window, does my time outside Thailand count toward the 90 days, or does the clock only count the days spent inside Thailand?

3️⃣ Basically:

– Can I leave once or twice within the 90–97-day allowance and still use the full 60+30 days?

– Or does leaving “interrupt” or reduce the extension?

I’ve watched several update videos, but the explanations weren’t fully clear on how exits and re-entries affect the new 60+30 system, so any firsthand experience or clarification would help a lot!

Thank you so much in advance! 🙏✨

My plan for a non O retirement visa has been delayed because my house will not sell until next June. I want to return to Thailand from the US sometime in the next six weeks and back to the US in May. I have $25,000 USD in a US bank but cannot shift it into a Thai bank until after my house sells in seven months. Should I apply for a non O retirement visa to stay for 90 days but then lose it and have to re-apply next summer while in the US? Or should I enter Thailand for 60 days, do a 30 day extension, then fly out and back in for 60 more days, and forget the non O until next summer? If I take the visa exempt approach in six weeks will I be allowed back into the Kingdom next summer if I arrive with a non O visa? Thanks to all for advice.

Does anyone know what's going on at the Border in non-kai just tried to do a border run today the 15th of November and was turned away saying something about new rules.

I have only been here 45 days and am looking to swap from my Visa exempt to my DTV Visa that took 12 weeks to get through the New York Embassy. I had medical appointments I did not wish to miss so I had to come ahead of my Visa.

Couple of questions if I may. I'm in Thailand now,on visa exempt. I'm married to a Thai for 22 years, she has UK citizenship. We've lived in the UK holidaying in Thailand amongst other places never staying more than 3 weeks so visa never been an issue. Now I've retired we want to spend longer in Thailand, maybe buy a place, we're thinking halk/half, UK winters in Thailand. UK summers in UK. We're here now and intention is to stay here until May, spending a month 6 weeks in various places while we decide where to settle. So first question, can I get a non O while I'm here, seems tricky catch 22 as non 0 requires bank account, and to get bank account requires visa and which non O would be best, marriage or retirement, seems marriage as requires less financial commitments but I defer to your expert advice. I'm thinking forget the non O until we return UK next May and then get it in UK in readiness for returning to Thailand next November, but if can do it while here, we will for ease. Next question is border runs, since I'll need to to stay here until May and we planned to holiday in Viet Nam, Laos anyway. Could I do border runs after 60 days rather than extending 60 to 90 days, I realise that would be 2 border runs needed to reach May rather than one, but that doesn't bother us and saves us 1900 baht to spend on a trip if my thinking is correct? Also, I have a certificate of residency from Thailand immigration since were staying with my wife's family while we're here, if that helps with the first question. Thanks all.
