I have an AUSTRALIAN 6 MONTH MULTI. ENTRY visa. Is there a limit on the amount of times i can exit/reenter thailand with this visa?
Planning to stay 9 months with this visa and did my first border run to maesai a week ago, however im interested in going back to maesai with a friend tomorrow to do some shopping.
Also my friend arrived in thailand this morning and recieved the standard tourist visa upon entry (30 days i think?), can he visit myanmar and re enter thailand without a problem at mae sai?
Please help!
Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the entry limits for an Australian 6-month multi-entry visa for Thailand, intending to stay 9 months and planning a border trip to Mae Sai. Community responses clarify that while it's labeled as multi-entry, there may be a common perception of a limit, often thought to be five entries, although official guidelines suggest unlimited exits and entries within the visa's validity. Additionally, they confirm that a friend with a 30-day tourist visa can make a border run to Myanmar and re-enter via Mae Sai, granted visa-exempt entries are within the allowed limits.
On a Thai (not Australian) METV you can exit and re-enter as many times as you like within its validity period. If you want to stay up to (nearly) 9 months, exit and re-enter on or near the expiry date, which would get you a final 60-day entry which can be extended 1x 30 days.
As for your friend, on a 30-day visa exemption can do a border hop at Mae Sai and get another visa-exempt entry. Visa-exempt land border hops are currently allowed 2 times per calendar year.
