How do personal tax rates vary between the U.K. and Thailand, would going Non Tax in the U.K. be more economical by paying tax in Thailand. My taxable income in the U.K. is around £18000 with pensions and interest payments. I will be having a consultation with a tax expert in the U.K. but he has no knowledge of the Thai tax system.
For those on the DTV wanting a tax ID, I went into the office in my district today with google translate in hand (no one speaks English in any revenue office) they were extremely nice I had my Tax ID in 5 minutes. I had filled out the form in advance and used google to translate it, and my girlfriend was on standby to talk to one of the reps in case things didn't go well. They couldn't have gone better. I already had "need tax ID don't speak Thai" translated on my phone when I walked in. The guard and rep who got my ID was very interested in English, how I used Google Translate and the United States.
Apologies not visa related but still a very confusing topic.
A month or so ago I quit my job at a school and I went to the tax office and they said that I can claim tax back on what was deducted from my salary. The tax office only requires me to do the "withholding tax document" and for this I need documents from the previous school.
What I need to know is can that school legally refuse to give me the needed documents or do they have no choice to provide it to me?
