Quick question:

I have a Retirement Visa that expires this week, and I will be applying for a new one. I also have a brand new passport, but my current visa is in the old passport.

Do I need to transfer the old visa into the new passport before applying, or can I just bring both passports and have the new Retirement Visa placed directly into the new passport?

Thanks in advance.

This may be a daft question...

I'm looking to apply for a Non-Immigrant O-A Retirement visa for Thailand.

I plan to retire there at the end of this year.

When does the Visa period start?

For example, if I start the application now and it get's granted in say 2 months, will it's validity start the moment I land in Thailand?

Or when I get granted the Visa?

As I say, apologies if this is obvious to you all and thanks for any clarification.

Dumb question here.

Have anyone experienced or heard of the immigration not letting you into Thailand even after getting the DTV visa?

I sold my house my house in America in 2024 for 850k. I purchased for 520k. Will this gain qualify for the 80k of capital gains to qualify for the wealthy pensioner category for the LTR visa? In America this gain is NOT taxable.

If the date in the invitation letter from the Muay Thai gym is one month from the date of applying for DTV, but the DTV is granted with a week or 2, do I have to wait until that month is up or can I go back sooner?

The course is for 6 months

I am applying for the DTV visa. I have the required funds and evidence of such, however I spread my funds across multiple accounts. It's a safe practice in case a card does not work, is blocked, lost, stolen, or if the bank shuts down (First Republic bank in the US).

My question to the group, has anyone applied and been approved providing bank statements from multiple accounts?

Additionally, when applying in the US do they consider retirement accounts as funds (not required me for) but I was curious since I have so much in my retirement accounts.

Thanks everyone!

I am half Thai (I have thai ID, passport) and helping my wife to apply for 3 months Non-O immigrant visa, are these options correct to apply the e-visa? What confuses me is the purpose of visit option says Thai Family (me as a husband?) residing in Thailand. However I "haven't" reside yet, so we only will stay in AirBnb first. Am I on the right track? I cant find another better option to choose

They rejected my DTV and gave me only half a year instead of five years - out of compassion. How often do I need to renew my visa at immigration - every 30, 60, or 90 days?
