If she has a Visitor visa she cannot apply for LTR in the UK. She will need to return to Thailand and apply for a Settlement visa. If she has a fiancee visa (in other words, she has taken the A1 English test, has a TB certificate and paid the NHS surcharge - and you have shown you meet the financial requirements), it's not an issue. You just marry and move on to the next stage.
I'm not sure there is any way around getting it legalised and certified in the Uk. I would advise sending it my courier (like DHL) to the UK Legalisation Office in Milton Keynes and then they send it to the Thai Embassy in London. The problem may be getting it sent back to you in Thailand. Do you have friends or family in the UK who can help?
So far only Chiang Mai and Phuket have confirmed the change and only require a new TM30 if you move to a new address. It does look fairly official though, so hopefully other offices will fall in line.
I agree. There's supposed to be an ASEAN meeting this week which may result in an agreement between the neighbouring countries, which would allow border runs for those who just need a new entry. If not, the amnesty should be extended again.
Ciaran McNeill Possibly they should. But it's not uncommon for people to apply for a tourist visa in a neighbouring country. Whether or not it's granted depends on the applicant's history.
Yeah, you may well be right. But if the land borders do not re-open, the Thai government will have to extend the visa amnesty. The meeting is (I understand) planned for 26 June, so we should know then.
is referring to the borders with neighbouring countries that will hopefully re-open in July to allow people on O/B/tourist visas to get new visas and then re-enter Thailand (not the border pass which is just for citizens of those countries to go home).
