Only going by current posts on FB and YouTube. If on an ED visa you can forget about trying for an account. Even the agents can’t do it. Changed a few weeks ago. I have no direct experience so perhaps it may work for you.

I couldn’t say that that’s the maximum. It’s just that above that amount a direct SWIFT transfer from bank to bank may be cheaper.

The OP didn’t mention tax liability. They asked the cheapest way to transfer.

They will require proof that you are in the country you are applying from. Usually hotel bookings and entry stamps in your passport will suffice.

Depends on what you call a large amount. For 10k ($, £, €) etc then wise is probably the cheapest option. For 100k or above then your banks swift rate may well be the cheaper option.

A TM30 is something your house owner or hotel files. You won’t need to have one unless you have need of interaction with immigration.

If they file online it takes them about 3 minutes or less to do so.

Forget it if you’re on a ED visa. Good luck trying if you’re not on a Non Immigrant visa. Probably best to contact an agent.
