If you change your passport to a new one and successfully transfer your extension of stay to the new one, does your first 90day report have to be in person after the change? For some reason my online report with the new passport was rejected for "no record found".

Can I do the visa transfer from old to new passport at any immigration office or does it need to be where the visa extension was issued? I did the visa extension at Changwattana but will be in Chiang Mai in a couple of weeks and the immigration office is more conveniently located there. Thanks if anybody knows the answer.

Hi everyone!

My current visa expires at the end of this month and I will be doing a visa renewal then. My current passport has one free page left. I have just been notified that my new passport has arrived (thankfully). When I collect my new passport my current passport gets cancelled. My embassy is not being clear on what I need to do...

This how I understand it:

I collect my new passport. Cancel the current one. Obtain a letter from my embassy. Then at the end of the month I go to CW Immigration office with both passports and the letter from my embassy. Do the visa renewal in my new passport and I'm all good to go.

Is it as simple as that? Because I have my doubts 😅

Thanks in advance ☺️

Good day everyone. My partner and i are just a littler bit confused what to do. He got his new passport yesterday and his old passport was already cancelled. He got laid off from his job so his work permit was cancelled last friday but wasn’t able to get the letter of cancellation from the hr officer (she was on holiday). His visa was not cancelled but we already booked a flight to the Philippines(not coming back to thailand) this wednesday oct 21. My question is, does he still need to transfer his visa to the new passport? Or can he just show his old passport? Thank you.

Thank you in advance.

Currently on an ED visa, going to my home country next month and will get a new passport there as my current one has almost expired. On arrival back in Thailand I am planning on show both passports, the old passport with current visa and re-entry permit and new passport. Will this cause any problems at the airport in Thailand?

How soon do I have to go to immigration to change the visa from old passport to new passport? I need to go to immigration a week or so after im back anyway for a visa extension, so could I just wait and do it all at the same time? Or do I have to change the visa to my new passport within 24 hours? Thanks
