How should one handle insults and negativity in online expat communities?
I recently got insulted by a member of this group
who wrote, "you are a stupid German and don't deserve to be in this group"
and further he went "you don't even know ho to write in proper English"
so I wish to share with you a quote, that was posted in my personal FB group. My friend from Tennessee wrote:
"That sign is a real piece of history! I’m happy that you secured that piece of the past! You’re more American in spirit than many that are in name only!

I speak 3 languages fluently, and further 2 languages basically. I live in Thailand for 6 months every year, for the past 17 years
I am hard of hearing, my hearing loss is 90%, however I can read lips and my hearing aid (strongest ya can get) gets me around

After only a month or so here I had someone very rude to me also for no reason when I called him out for it he private messaged me telling me he hopes I get my head bashed in by 10 motorbike taxi drivers. Talk about weird the topic was nothing to do with taxi 🚖 drivers. But he was specific in his choice of my assailants

Yes unfortunately keyboard heroes are everywhere, don’t be offended by people who would not dare confront you in real-time they are only insulting themselves and showing the group how petty and low life they really are.
