Once you have your Non O, do you continue to need a one year condo contract to comply with immigration and banking requirements? In the early years, I wish to move around the Land of Smiles to find my perfect forever location.

Just looking at the official online Thai visa website.

When selecting visa type, there a two different retirement strings. One via long term visa- purpose for visit- retirement.

or the other, via Non Immigration- retirement. Can someone please elaborate on the differences please?

I would be looking for the one suitable to apply for while in my own country, multiple entry, then renew each year while in Thailand. Cheers in advance.

Just a question…

I am currently on a “marriage visa”. Some day it will be up for renewal. I do some voluntary work here and there, all legit.

If I convert my extension to “retirement visa”, will I still (legally!) be able to get a volunteer permit?

I’ve just been searching advice at an agent here in Thailand. She told me there is no need to add/apply kids under 14 yo on/for DTV (as dependents) Any thoughts on that ..?

Hi, :) i forgot to do my 90 day report at the immigration, and it's been almost 6 months i've been in thailand. I will soon do the visa run. Should i still get the 90 day report done before i do the visa run, is it a big deal?

I am a US citizen, flying in from Europe. I want to stay in Thailand for 6-8 weeks starting month.

I know the visas keep changing.

Do US passport holders still get 60 days on entry or 30? How is it working these days? If it is 30 days how can I extend?

I was in Thailand from September 2024 to middle of January 2025. I’m not sure if that will be a problem. And i was there during covid.

Seeing if there is anything I should know before coming back next month (September)

I had an non immigrant ED visa in January 2023, which mentions the day the stamp was added and two smaller rectangular stamps, one underneath, and one on the next page mentioning the day I received it and the expiration date (3 months later). There is also a red stamp saying USED above the visa.

I left Thailand 3 weeks after receiving it and returned 8 more times since on visa exemptions. Now I want to apply for another ED visa, but I was told that I have to first cancel the ED visa that I received almost 3 years ago. Is this correct?

Just posting what happened with us for reference. Arrived end of April (US passport) for first time ever in Thailand planning to stay 90 days. After 60 days, we elected not to file an extension as we wanted to spend a week in Cambodia before returning for a month. We left on time, had a blast in Cambodia.

When we arrived back tonight (BKK) we caught the lecture about this being the last time we would be allowed in for a year. He said the rules had changed and he could only give us 45 days. He said from now on foreigners can only stay a total of 90 days per year. Fine with us we are leaving before then. After a 15 minute back and forth we were allowed to enter. I checked as I exited airport; he stamped 60 days.

Yea, yea, I know that’s not the “rules” or whatever. Just letting people on the every 3 month visa run know they are indeed cracking down if I can catch a lecture for my 2nd entrance ever.
