@Cubi *****
What has that got to do with the price of cheese? What’s getting tougher? The need or not need to file a TM30? As stated it’s office specific. Nothing to do with Russians or Chinese.

@Ralph ******
What the law states and what interpretation of that the office uses can vary vastly.

That’s going to be specific to the immigration office you use. Some require a new TM30 if you stay a night away from your home. Some don’t care if you travel within Thailand and return home. Some don’t seem to care if you travel overseas and return home.

With no visa bought prior you’d get a 60 day visa exempt stamp on arrival and can extend that once for a further 30 days at a local immigration office. Leave and re-enter after that for a repeat of 60+30.

Flag is in front of the door of room 101 at the Phuket Town immigration office. Many people ignore it….

@Matt *****
Well the visa/extension is based on being a “Custodian to a Thai Child”. Once they turn 20 they are no longer considered a child.

@Ralph ******
That would be dependent on the office you use for the extension. Some require a TM30 filed. Some may not.

@James *******
That would work. Or you do what every other person on the planet seems to be doing and apply for the 5 year DTV

In theory the answer is yes. A house owner has to report foreigners staying within 24 hours of their arrival.

In practice if you need no interaction with immigration then no one will care if you have had one filed or not.
