I have a question regarding the financial proof requirement of 500,000 THB. I’m applying through the Thai Embassy in Rome, and on their website it states: “12,500 EUR (500,000 THB)”.
I’m a bit confused, since the two amounts are not exactly equivalent, especially with the current exchange rate, where 500,000 THB is more than 13,000 EUR.
Should I follow the amount in Thai Baht or is the 12,500 euros equivalent sufficient?
The reason I ask is because in some months my account balance was slightly above 12,500 EUR, but not always over the full 500,000 THB equivalent — just around the threshold.
Ok- I have a question for all my Wise Banking American ex-Pats:
When I'm moving money from my Wells Fargo to wise and then Wise to a Thai bank account should I exchange the funds to Baht and then deposit them s Baht to the Thai bank account?
Does that make sense? Or just do a USD dorectly into my Thai bank account?
Hello Group. I’ve seen a variety of posts regarding the setting up of a bank account and depositing the 800,000 Baht required for retirement visa. But my question is this, if transferring funds via the Wise App. Should I exchange the amount into Baht first and then transfer or just transfer the foreign equivalent and let the bank calculate the exchange rate ?
Am just wondering what charges would apply for either or both options.
I have to step outside of my zone of comfort. Only because this is a little outside of my comfort zone. If there is anybody that's able to advise me with what's more feasible. Please reach out to me on messenger. I have less than 60 days to stay the course with my original plan. Or do I have to alternate between the two.
Here's the issue. I am all set for my retirement/move to Thailand late August, early September. The only thing I have left is to apply for my retirement. I recently rearranged my first class flight from Thailand to the Philippines. From the Philippines then to Thailand. Saving me a couple thousand dollars. Now here is my issue and why I need help. The cost of the currency exchange and how hard of a is it going to hit me. My goal is Thailand. I should consider staying in the Philippines because of the what is happening with the US dollar. I am struggling with this decision. Apologize for the lengthy post. Hopefully there is somebody with some sound advice. Thanks
Just a side issue, Kasikorn bank yesterday would not accept the new King Charles £50 notes, they changed the older ones with the queens head on though.
I need to send a large sum for a Thai friend to buy a house. I don’t want comments on this, I know 100% what I am doing.
What would be the safest way to do it?
Swift transfer to friend’s Bangkok bank is possible? Will the EU bank allow this?
Wise/revolut I am afraid they would freeze the money and start asking all sort of questions and would be a nightmare to stay in touch with them.
Should I come to Thailand, open a bank account and then transfer there and then to my friend?
If so on what visa could I do this? I leave elite visa as my last option(expensive and I don’t really need to be that much in Thai for the next 5 years)
Hello everyone, I am thinking to open a currency exchange shop business in phuket. I doon't have any experience in this business. Still I am confident I can do this.
Is there anyone who is already doing this business here? Or have experience in this?
