⚠️ Warning

Passport Type: USA

I’m having to leave Thailand because my Non-B visa couldn’t be transferred in time due to a missing document from my employer. While still in Thailand, immigration told me I had to leave the country to do a border run and return on a tourist visa to restart the Non-B visa process.

This will be my first time entering Thailand on a tourist visa exempt on arrival, as I haven’t used one this year. Today, I’m flying from Thailand to Vientiane, Laos (VTE airport) via Lao Airlines. I had everything prepared for the visa on arrival: 2,000 baht in cash and a passport photo, ready before check-in at the airline counter.

However, Lao Airlines refused to issue my already paid-for ticket unless I showed them an additional 10,000 baht in cash. I’ve never heard of this requirement before.

I’m scheduled to return to Thailand on the same airline from VTE. Has anyone experienced this before? Has anyone had problems flying back to Thailand from VTE with Lao Airlines?

This may be a silly question

When opening a Thai bank on a non o visa in readiness for the 1 year retirement visa can you deposit more than the required 800 K baht ? If so , can I take out money for day to day living expenses but still have the 800 K in the bank and not be penalised by immigration when the time comes for the yearly application extension. Thankyou

We just completed our first 90-day reporting under the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) at the Blue Tree Immigration Office in Phuket. The whole process took less than 5 minutes for both of us!

Received an acknowledgement receipt attached in the passport.

Here are a few useful things we discovered:

1️⃣ Documents Required:

They only checked our TM47 form, TM30 slip, and passport with the latest entry stamp. Super simple.

2️⃣ Child Verification Needed:

Our daughter was at school during the visit, but the officer insisted she must be present for verification. So we’ll need to make another trip with her during school hours.

3️⃣ Office Closure:

Heads up! The Blue Tree immigration office will be closed on Monday, July 28th (likely for a holiday).

4️⃣ DTV Extension:

If you’re planning to extend your Digital Nomad Visa, it can only be done at the main Immigration Office in Phuket Town – not at Blue Tree.

5️⃣ In-Person Visit Required:

Each applicant must be present in person for 90-day reporting or visa-related services – no exceptions.

We might do our next 90 days reporting in October or after 6 months. Depending on how our DTV extension goes.

How does one comply with the second requirement? Do you simply present a copy of your rental agreement? The paperwork from the school said something about bringing the TM 30 but isn’t that something the landlord fills out and not the applicant?

Hi all. I'm an Aussie and have a return ticket: arrive mid-August & depart late Oct. I haven't yet decided if to have a one week trip in September to HCMC or Phnom Penh. Is there a risk that check-in or immigration may say it's over 60 days so need a ticket somewhere before the 60 days is up? Thanks

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the DTV from Thai Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar.

I’m currently working as a short-term remote worker, and I have bank statement showing an amount equivalent to over 500,000 THB. But , this amount was deposited only a month ago.

I would like to ask:

• How long should I wait to be strong financial proof in my account?

• What kind of documents should I prepare and submit as a remote worker?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Applying as a long term resident of Taiwan. The visa office sent me to the National Immigration Agency for proof of current location.

For the proof of 500k in assets, the instructions say 3 months of bank statements, but my bank's statements are generated only on a certain day of the month. Do I just have to wait or can I paste together a web printout of my recent transactions (showing that I transferred 500k THB into by account)? Instead of showing both deposits and expenditures/withdrawals, can I just show deposits since this is more private?

Also I've seen a few people say Taiwan requires 6 months of bank statements, even though the application says 3 months.

I'm in Bangkok with a 3 month Non-O visa wanting to extend for retirement. I was getting my documents together and then checked the web and there is no mention of proof of condo rental or health insurance. What am I missing here?
