You may have read different things Asa retirement extension is 2 months prior but a guardian extension (bar the first one) is 3 months. Both are obtain off the initial Non O visa so could be confusing.

Will entering Thailand on a Tourist Visa with an expired Non-O visa raise red flags at the airport?

Almost certain to raise red flags.

Have the “three proofs” on you. 20,000 baht or equivalent in cash, proof of accommodation and a ticket out of Thailand.

Explain to them that you want to apply for the in country Non O as now nowhere does the multiple entry version anymore.

You’ll probably be fine but will almost certainly be questioned.

What happens to my non-O visa if my travel dates are later than the issue date?

The visa is valid for use for 90 days from issue. When you arrive in Thailand you’ll be stamped in for 90 days as long as you arrive before the visa expires.

What does my METV validity mean for my arrival and stay in Thailand?

All visas start from the day of issue. For a single entry tourist visa it doesn’t make a difference as long as you enter before the valid date.

With the METV you lose “time value” as it starts ticking from issue.

With planning you can squeeze almost 9 months from that visa with extensions or bounces.

Your original passport

Copy of the photo page

Copy of the entry stamp

Passport sized photo

TM30 from your hotel or landlord

1,900 baht

Fill out form TM7 and maybe STM2 and STM9
