TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on extending their 60-day visa as it is about to expire on May 18, and they need an additional 30 days before returning home on May 25. Multiple comments suggest that an agent is unnecessary for this process, highlighting that the extension can be obtained directly at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht, with essential documents such as a passport, TM30 form, and a photo. They also mention the importance of arriving early and possibly preparing photocopies of relevant documents in advance to expedite the process. A few users inquired about specific requirements in Pattaya.

some imigration don’t need mt30
Rob **********
Why on earth do you need an agent, this is very straightforward and simple to do yourself.
Ernst *********
It seems a lot of hassle for just seven days extra you are trying to stay.

Just go home on the 18th, end of story.
Bob **********
High season is over do it yourself a lot of agents don’t do it because it’s so easy to do yourself
Alessandro ***********
Literally just walk to your nearest immigration office.
Armando **********
18th is Sunday. The immigration office isn't open on the weekends. So you better go on the 16th. I was supposed to go in on the 18th too but then discovered it was a Sunday. Now I'm going to be two days over on my stay. Lol..
Randy ********
@Armando *********
you’ll be fine. If your stamp expires on the weekend, as long as you’re at the immigration office the next day they are open, you won’t have to pay for an over stay.

Even better yet, why not go during this coming week? You don’t have to wait until the last minute.

Don’t waste your money on agents

Just go immigration with passport and pay 1900baht.

Most places, they do everything for you. Not sure if you need a passport sized photo
Johny ******
Just take the fine 🙄
Damo ***********
@Johny *****
the fine… as well as the free stay in detention centre, deportation and blacklist if he has any engagement or involvement with police?

Stupid advice!
Tom *********
Taking the fine WILL impact your ability to get long term visas in the future.
Johny ******
@Damo **********
you don't get detention deportation, talking out ya arse mate.

I've taken the fine a couple of times 🤷 no big deal 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Jo***
overstays are never a good idea. And may affect any future visa applications you want to do.

@Alessandro **********
not if it's only a few days, people on here say you can get thru in 20 mins 🙄 always taken me at least half a day, so for me, if it's a few days, I'll bite the bullet 👍👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇾🇪🙏🙏

Definitely don’t need an agent. Your biggest concern should be the TM30. You won’t get anything done at immigration without it.

Like mentioned above, if you book a hotel for the night before you go, I’d even book one as close as possible to the immigration office to make it that much easier.

Make sure you get the TM30 from them. Then, go to immigration early the next morning.

For example, I use IT Square in Bangkok quite frequently. I’m there at around 5:30am. Yeah that’s early but I’m there before the masses and once the office opens I’m out within an hour. Trust me, you could get there at 4am and there will still be others ahead of you.

You’ll need;

TM30

Photocopy of your data page in your passport

Photocopy of your latest entry stamp

One passport sized photo

You’ll need to fill in the three different forms they have there.

If you don’t have all the photo copies done before hand, it’s ok, there are two copy shops right there next to the immigration office. That’s if you’re using IT Square in Bangkok.

I'm in pattaya I am tenting a room with the girlfriend but they never asked for my passport so worried I'm not registered

@Graham *******
oh, ok. I’ll let the people in that area guide you.

The landlord is suppose to file the TM30 since she’s renting the place.

I’m not sure if the immigration in Jomtein requires the TM30. Some offices don’t care about it, some do.

I do know there are a few good Visa agents in that area. Mots is one of them.

Just go to the nearest immigration office, pay 1900THB and get another 30 days

We did ours ourselves, very easy form to fill out and if you get there early, it shouldn’t be that long

You just go to immigration office and fill in the little form. Plus passport, a photo, TM30 and 1900 tbt.

You don't need an agent for an extension. Just take 1900 baht, your passport, TM30, 1 picture and fill out the form at immigration.

@Graham *******
did the gf or owner report your stay with her at immigration

If not there could be an issue at immigration if you try to do yourself.

Last year a mate of mine stayed at his friends condo, neither reported address of stay. When he went to get 30 day extension by himself he was fined 2000b for non reporting.

Using an agent maybe best option.

So good visa

There are plenty that can help
Paul ********
@Graham *******
book yourself into a hotel for a night or two that will cure the tm30 issue

It has to be where you are staying on the day you apply
Victor *******
@Paul *******
Do the hotels automatically do the TM30 automatically
Marc ********
@Paul *******
Not complicated at all🤦🏻 Booking a hotel and having to stay the exact same day as applying. He dosn't want the hassle that's why he is asking for an agent🤦🏻
Paul ********
@Marc *******
move to hotel day before you apply

Still need agent

Tried and tested method 😉
Marc ********
@Paul *******
why would he go to a hotel if he still needs an agent? Hotel still costs money right? 500b for a shitty hotel. And some of them don't know about tm30. You need a good hotel then maybe 1000b. Then you have to wait in queue at Immigration. You will at least spend 2 hours there. So at the end of the day it will cost you 3000b for still having to spend time at immigration. Agent will charge about 4000b no waiting, no tm30, no hotel stay🤷‍♂️
Paul ********
@Marc *******
should have said still, if only to save wasting time hanging about.

There is a good list of agents already posted anyone will do it.

It is the most simply service that they offer

Op just needs to get the ball rolling
Marc ********
@Paul *******
he just needs an agent not charching more than 4000b. In his case staying at hotel only to get the tm30 form is nonsense
Phil ******
@Graham *******
damn maybe do online now and you might dodge the fine.

Or do a border run with a company and start the 60-day Visa Exempt again.

I did one in Pattaya, September last year. I was in at 8.30 am and out by 9.05 am. It's not bad if you can get the form and fill it out prior to getting there. Just get the all they ask for and it's only 1900 baht doing it yourself.

@Graham *******
if you go early you can do it in 2 hours, just make sure you be there before the opening time
Marc ********

If you go before opening time you still have to wait as everybody have the same idea and show up like 2 hours before opening time

@Graham *******
Depends on the office you use. Some will be in and out in 20 minutes or so.
