The ETA has been postponed until further notice. Probably middle of next year but we don’t know yet when or if it will happen.

You have to be in Indonesia to apply via the Jakarta embassy. They will ask for proof to see that you are.

Depends where you are in the country. Cheapest seems to be Pattaya. Probably circa 5k. Bangkok and Phuket probably more like 8-10k.

Put a post up in a forum related to where you will actually be and see what the going rate is for there.

You can open a bank account on a DTV. The hard part is finding a branch manager that will let you.

The specific documents needed will vary from branch to branch and also depend on your nationality.

Many people just find it easier to use an agent to open an account.

You cannot get an extension just as you arrive. The earliest you can get an extension will be dependant on the office you are going to use.

Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Buri Ram (possibly others) allow 45 days prior. Most others will allow 30 days prior.

Jomtien, Samui and Koh Phangan will only let you apply when you have 7 days or less left on your entry stamp.

You can get a residence certificate from staying for 1 night in a hotel. They give you the TM30 and you head to immigration to get the certificate. Means nothing in reality.

As stated. No one yet knows what will be needed for an extension.

If you’ve no plans to extend then there is no need to keep it.

We don’t yet know what the requirements for an extension will be as yet, but as you aren’t planning to get one then spend away.
